This is true the question is will Harry and son be willing to give it a few windows, will make interesting contract talks that's for sure.
If they weren't willing to then I wouldn't blame them. They should see some trophies in their career. Hopefully at Spurs obviously.

And there's the rub
The handful of players we need to keep could all go elsewhere
apols if I leave any out
Kane
Son
PEH
Reguilon
(and I would keep Rodon)
p.s. not popular but I would also keep Toby

if any of the others went I would be 0.00753% bothered

Most of us want success but if they were not willing to stick around I would not blame them one bit.
The club is a constant circus act hard to see them getting it right certainly in the near future but we live in hope.

It seems we all agree on the players that aren't good enough.

If you actually look at our good players. Lloris, Reguilon, PEH, Ndombele, GLC, Son, Kane. They've all had really good seasons. Even Aurier who is talented but erratic, has had his best season in a Spurs shirt under Jose.

This is what gives me hope that all is not lost under Jose. Shock horror, the players who aren't good enough have been largely diabolical under Jose, (and Poch).

I am veering more and more towards giving Jose this summer to sort the squad out. I worry if we get a new manager in he gives the whole squad a new slate and we are stuck with the likes of Winks, Moura, Sanchez, Dier etc, for another two years.

Lloris has 18 months left on contract. He has to be sold this summer. Cant afford to let him go for free as money is short. Need to recoup some cash. Someone give Poch a ring. Lloris and dele to there in the summer for a decent chunk of change would be ideal. Toby has to go as well. Age is not on his side and will probably appeal to some teams in Europe. Covid has really screwed us. Hopefully Todd Kilne can work some magic and get us a stadium sponsor amongst other things

I think we have a massively bloated squad and Jose is struggling to keep them all match sharp. Over the years he's usually had slimmer squads than this and pretty much stuck to a core group. He might rotate his midfield three with a couple of others and have another winger and striker, but that's been about it.

I think that Jose would love to do as we all want. Sell off a good 10 players and bring in 4-5 quality ones to be left with a neat squad that all get regular minutes.

Short term

Defence; Sell Sanchez, Foyth and Dier. Bring in a good experienced CB who has years left in them (so not Ramos). That'll leave us with Alderweireld, Rodon, Tanganga and the new guy as well as Davies as a spare CB or for when we go with a back 5. I'd like to sell Aurier and bring in a better RB too. LB will be fine with Sess, Reggie and Davies.

Midfield; Skipp returns in place of Winks and Sissoko. Dele leaves and we get a new AM in. Hojbjerg, Skipp, N'Dombele, GLC and the new AM.

Attack; Ideally Kane stays, Bale goes back to Madrid and Moura moves on. I'm on the fence regarding Vinicius in all honesty as I think we looked far more fluid last night with Son up top. We bring in a wide right forward, maybe someone that can lead the line. Kane, Son, Bergwijn, Lamela, Vinicius and the new guy.

Long term
Alderweireld will leave next summer at the latest so we need to plan for that. If Rodon and Tanganga have improved we get in a short term option as fourth choice else we look for another talented younger player. Depending on Doherty, we may need a new RB. If Reggie goes back to Madrid we still could have Cirkin ready

Midfield should be strong. GLC and N'Dombele may leave but will do so for good money so we can re-invest. Devine is probably 2-3 years off pushing for a spot but he, Skipp and White are a strong trio to make up our midfield core. Hojbjerg I imagine will stay for years too.

Attack; Parrott could do a Kane and step up. I think Bergwijn will improve if he inherits the LWF role off of Son whilst Scarlett is another that could kick on in the next couple of years.

We can all see that a number of the current squad are either past their prime or just not good enough to take us to where we think the club should be.

What I don't get is Levy. He is also a fan like us so surely he wants to see a winning team. He has to watch every game. He must have a reasonable understanding of what makes a good player, so like most of us he must see which are good enough and which aren't.

I appreciate his responsibility as the financial custodian but after 20 years they (Levy, Joe and ENIC) can't be in it just to make money. Their legacy might be the new stadium but surely its about time they threw a bit more money at it to produce a winning team.

Three new players, two centerbacks and a right sided forwarded might be enough to make the difference. Previous posters have named the players we could replace, 4,5,6 or more out could cover the majority of costs of incomings.

Difficult financial situation currently I know, but taking risks in these times is when investors like JL make their money. Just need a bit more of it in the new player direction.

When all the players came in last Summer I actually believed it was new owners. Imagine my disappointment.

Also ....we all have never ending lists of players to ship out but who is going to pay a decent amount for Sanchez, Winks etc etc etc they are proven misfiits.
Didn't somebody say recently that Burnley have better CBs than THFC.

edit.....at least we can save large on wages starting with Balio Coolio.

Levy and enic are not football fans they said as much years ago, what they saw as businessmen was a chance to exploit the football world after seeing how much money can be made.
I suppose levy has grown a bit of an attachment to the club, but when all said and done we will when we get back into the stadium be paying the highest prices in the league, for what an inferior product that neither properly challenges or wins anything.

Levy literally said he was season-ticket holder before taking control and you are quoting a book "Broken Dreams: Vanity, Greed And The Souring of British Football", not a surpise that you won't find anything positive here about any owner

I was sure Levy is actually a fan. Whilst it is only a Daily Mail article it does say “unfair to a man who is a lifelong fan of the club since going to his first game back in the 1960s to say he solely cares about the numbers in the club's accounts”

In twenty years of ownership there hasn't been much in the way of return to date let's be honest and we pay an awful lot for very little.

We'll have money in the summer when Kane goes. I'd be gobsmacked if he stays.
Obviously praying he does.
I might be off my nut but I don't think he will go end of this season. I think he will see what next season brings in Jose's full second season and if ends in tears he will be off

Who the fuck can afford him?!
Really?
Man U and Man City could easily afford him and would if he suddenly said he wants to leave.
Dont kid yourself nobody would come in for him. Thats just wishful thinking.
He would only go to winners so Man City most likely imo.
Of course I dont want him to leave. But I wouldn't blame him if he did. If he finishes his career having won absolutely fuck all it will be a tragedy. Just my onions. Spurs fans are understandably very touchy when it comes to Kane and it fks me off when people in the media talk about him going to 'a big club' but we're a fkin shit show and look miles off being where we want to be. I still think we're feeling the effects of those 2 missed transfer windows and we need major investment which just isn't gonna come.
Kane has given us his best and always said if the club match his ambition then why not stay. Well we haven't. Imo.

Well fucking said my Man, I fully expect him to not stick around and continue with this shit show when he can join a "winner".
The mess that levy and his previous and current manager has got us into is a joke, we as fan's continue to persist with this incompetence for what?
