Could have been a more interesting end to the race without the VSC and SC towards the end, Hamilton quite rightly absolutely fuming with Merc strategy. Surely they should have learned from Abu Dhabi last year that being in front is no good when you have RB behind on soft tyres.

Nightmare afternoon for Sainz too, ended up 8th with the penalty!

George Russell what a corporate, boring ****

Marketing man’s dream - should become a Tory candidate
I wouldn't be surprised if he was one :ROFLMAO: A lot of drivers come from very privileged backgrounds which has a tendency to breed arrogant toffs

I imagine Merc will drop a bit at Monza. It will probably be another RB snoozefest
Yeah, Ferrari seem to have gone backwards pace-wise too - could be some interesting fights in the wider field but can't see the win (maybe even P2) being an interesting scrap at all.

Toto talking bollox - only chance they had of winning that race was Russell holding off Max and allowing Hamilton a chance to win

It took a while for the mediums to get going, and Merc always has an issue with warming the tires. They either should have gone soft for both, are run mediums for both. Instead they let Russell bully them into doing what was best for him and not the team. The Strat team fucked up

I'm fuming

Why?

This is Red Bull's season, with, or without, any outside help.

Mercs don't have the car, Ferrari don't have the brains. And Red Bull designed the best car this season, and have the best driver. I can dislike Red Bull, and Verstappen, and still acknowledge the obvious.

At this stage, the only thing Mercedes and Ferrari should be focused on is next season.

Instead of both pitting and at worse finishing 2-3 they did this and finished 2-4

come on how is that not anger inducing.

they left Lewis for dead and has also created a bit of a separation between the drivers as well as the team. I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis gets disillusioned and wants to retire soon if stuff like this continues.

Just watching the highlights - Hamilton has every right to fire shots at his team, that was ridiculous. Feel sorry for him, that was an excellent drive otherwise, he deserved a podium at the very least.

Ferrari and the missing wheel... wtf happened there?? How does that even occur? Was the one they had for that set damaged and they had to switch it out? Madness, this was decided by the pit-wall squatters as much as the drivers today, what a crazy race.

Watching the practice sessions today and some great tributes to QEII especially Haas with black union jck on the nose, Ferrari had EIIR insignia and Merc with a black armband on the air intake. The minutes silence was also great to see.

5 laps left of this race when the safety car was deployed and we’ve finished the race behind the safety car. It was quite obvious from the moment the yellow flags came out a red flag was required to move that car. Makes the debacle at Abu Dhabi stink even more.

The new regulations were supposed to make F1 more of a level playing field. Instead, it’s killed the sport.
