There had been a save before he took the 5th pen -he needed to score just to give hope that Slovakia would miss their 5th and it would come down to sudden death. he smashed his square onto the crossbar and it came right back.
He went down with what look like a hammy but it seems it was cramp.

They had a few good chances to win it especially one in ET.

Like most football fans I always thought that there are too many international friendlies and believe that the creation of the Nations Cup is just a way of Eufa being able to turn meaningless friendlies into a legitimate competition. Yet,what do we get before our two qualifiers this week, a friendly against Wales or a friendly against England,whichever way you look at it. What is the point of having players travelling abroad or even being in unnecessary contact with other players on field with all the covid 19 stuff still raging? I can accept the Champions League and the Europa but there’s no point in the internationals. Even the Champions League and Europa could be a straightforward knock out competition this year but no. Come the end of the CL group stages the third placed team will be added to the Europa League.....simply because some of these relegated CL teams will be much bigger names that some of the anonymous teams from the back of beyond who are in the Europa.They will be a bigger draw ....TV revenue...Advertising, sponsors, money,money,money!!!
Forget the welfare of the players , forget the dangers of the virus.
