At the start of this thread I posted that I had 2 exams today and was hoping for some juicy ITK, I've just done those two exams, combined total of 5 hours and now my brain hurts, thought some ITK would relieve some of the pressure that's been created and its made it worse!! Bales going, bales staying, bales going, bales staying...OWWWWWW MY HEAD!!!! Gonna put an end to it here and say he's staying :D

Getting a job in mcdonalds sounds tough ;-)

yup. think willian may be the better 'fit' for the team but lamela has by far the bigger upside. can hopefully replace bale plus if he continues to develop he'll be worth similar money in a year or two. willian is at his ceiling now imo.

Exactly, I think if we were to wait a year to replace Bale with Lamela then we would have to spend above £35million imo, right now I think we could get him for say £25-28million. Saying that I wouldn't say no to Willian, lol.

The examiner's going to love reading pages and pages of regurgitated cryptics and team formations. ;)

Willian is such a better option and a lot cheaper due to him being transfer listed and in my eyes alot more doable as anzhi want to sell and roma dont lamela. Willian is a proven article but that's the only thing swaying me to lamela in the sense we usually buy younger players but we have at least enquired for both and go from there but me am on the WILLIAN bench.

Didn't roma get him for £18m? If hes done really well they can ask what they want. They don't need money.
Think if we bought him now it would probably be north of £30m, but have no idea.
Did bernard join that eastern european team?

i have no idea why, but for some reason over all the signings we've made and people we are linked to i feel most excited by Eriksen.

It must be that he is a No10 style player, but we already have Siggi and Holtby.

Its getting all Football Manager this year!

I'm desperate to see us sign a No. 10 or Mata type this window, but I'm not sure Eriksen is really the answer.

This is BS. Anzhi WANT to sell, they don't HAVE to sell.

The owner just wants to promote more homegrown players as all the stars have under performed.

It sounds like they are willing to sell, but would prefer to wait next year, as they believe his value will rise. But there is serious talk of Nani over there being purchased. Lots of papers are running the idea that they could be better off squad-wise cashing in on Lamela and spending the money across the squad. They seem to accept that they are going to lose players, as they missed out on the big tourneys. Osvaldo is another, being pushed to go to Southampton (so he doesn't go to an in-league rival).

Jasper on SO re Joe Lewis and Money

Father Joe is doing a one off. I liken it to Jack Walker and Blackburn, his dream was to see his club win the EPL in his lifetime. I am not saying this is Joe Lewis' one wish but he has clearly made it known that the money is there, and targets were discussed in meetings and concluded with his full backing. I did comment a while back that there is big money, and may I just add it is not at all dependent on Bale's sale either now or in 12 months time.

I do not believe that RM has that money sitting in the bank but time will tell. I believe that we have set a price which is realistic in club's eyes and I believe them when they say he will not be sold. I expect us to break our record again if clubs can agree, and wages now not a problem for the right players. with all the lurkers around safe not to name drop but most is out in the public domain now.

Sharing as I believe we want to know and my take on what I have heard from highly reliable sources.

He wants success and trophies and believes with many factors like 3 new managers among T4 (top 4), and Fair play, new money and American agreement soon to come out this is the time

Mega agreement in pipeline commercially.

So why do you think Willian will be cheaper than Lamela? Anzhi spent £35m on Willian. By all accounts Roma would probably sell Lamela for £30m

It's actually crazy how much this transfer window has changed my perspective because i actually believe that commercial agreement could happen...

Usually someone would just say "a transfer window isn't complete without the sponsorship deal ITK"... ;)
