Also we've been asked not to confirm/deny the solution to this one or give any extra hints. We'll explain at the end of the window if it doesn't come off.

The only defender I can think of that can dominate any opposition player is Samba.

I'd like to think it's Kurt Zouma though. Another beast of a defender

That was insightful. However I never know AVB wanted to play direct football? I thought it was more possession, patient football?

No AVB isn't as much a fan of the Barca-esque style! Just look at the midfield he's built of Dembele, Paulinho and Sandro, none of whom are particularly renowned for short, sharp possession play! They are known for dominating play, running at defence playing direct through balls and getting on the edge of the box :)

Since day one AVB has been constructing a squad at Spurs similar to the one he had at Porto! AVB's Porto side were renowned for overpowering their opposition, coming at the opponents defense with wave after wave of barrage from the likes of Hulk, Falcao, Varela, Guarin and Mountinho!

The midfield at Porto consisted of Fernando, Guarin and Mountinho. Fernando was the Sandro, the Ball-winning midfielder who shielded the back four, Guarin was the Paulinho, the box-to-box midfielder who drove forward when in position always looking to feed the strikers or shoot at goal and Mountinho was the Dembele/Holtby/Sig of the side, the advanced CM who looked to slip through balls to the attackers and hassle opponents when out of possession!

AVB's style of play is to dominate games, to feed attackers time and time again to put pressure on the opposition, the whole team from the GK to the CBs to the FBs to the CMs was built and drilled to press-high, to play directly and to feed the attackers (in this case the Chadli's (Varela) Soladado (Falcao) the welsh guy (Hulk)) It was an incredibly forceful, powerful and attractive style of play which led Porto to a tremendous treble and I hope it can be successfully replicated at our beloved Spurs!

i take it he's a replacement for huddlestone? we seem to be selling all our players with a creative ability. hmmmmm

but also adding to versatility and speed to our ranks.

serious i dont rate hudd at all, i much prefer a bit of mobility ;)

Fingers crossed we are actually buying these players in advance (Parker and Huddlestone), rather than selling and panicking. Perhaps Cardiff losing out on Capoue will prompt them to look at Tom?
