Putting things into perspective, January has been a decent window aside from the fact we really need a striker - Bergwijn and Fernandes. However if he's not properly backed in the summer then thats the last straw, we will never progress further than top 4 until we are sold
Hadn't really mate, eriksen has gone so not really much further ahead

When THFC refinanced their debt they explicitly stated that they had a covenant light debt structure.

The stadium is transformational for our finances, but it's incremental, so we don't have a massive stash of cash right now, but every month our financial position gets stronger.

It's the same as if you got a new job with 3 times the salary as your old one. It makes you richer, but doesn't mean you can go out and buy an expensive new motor for cash after your first month in the job.

Should be pinned to the top of every thread - fairly logical but very few seem to grasp it.

Been catching up on the back half of this thread and with all the transfer success I've read about us having so far today I think I may have accidentally tabbed into the the FIFA 20 thread and have just spent the last 20 minutes actually browsing the details of @hughy, @Kingellesar and @Spurrific's rotten FUT pack luck by mistake.

If you expect this summer to be any different you need your head examining.

enic have NEVER contributed to our transfer budget so if its true that the banks have us in check regarding our transfer expenditure it speaks volume for their ownership.

fuck enic and fuck levy *expects this to be his last post*

Sounds like Jose has similar ideas regarding signings that Poch did - he won’t just take a player for the sake of it. It has to be the right player, for the right price.
I can’t argue with that and strikers are notoriously hard to get in the Jan window.
Heck, Atletico couldn’t get Cavani...

Its always always jam tomorrow. There's excuses, then there is more excuses, and just when you think its safe there is another excuse and just when you can't take any more that's when they they really start to give you excuses. Then there is jam tomorrow.

To end the window without buying a striker and/or a DM is criminally negligent imvho.

Time will tell but this feels like yet another opportunity missed.

If we get top 4 my point is somewhat muted but if we don’t, I think we’ll really come to regret it.

I would just like to know/understand our plan, logic and next project because as of now I don’t.

Things never change under Levy though

To be fair we have now brought in 5 players over the last 2 windows. We should have bought a striker this window, no question imo but we are buying again, which is a huge improvement on last year.

If some are ungettable, and Jose isn't keen on some that's the way it is. He is definitely not a manager that will play a player he doesn't fancy. So that cash is just wasted.

The summer was always going to be the time we see if Jose will be backed or not.

Guess we will have to see.
Sooo you’re still telling me theirs a chance will sign Bale today? :wideyed:

This financials talk is Effed Up. Do we really have to wait 25/30 years to pay the stadium off before we can loosen the purse strings and be competitive?

I'll be dead!

We pay premium prices for inferior product.
Then don’t fucking pay. It’s not your mortgage, you’re under no obligation to give the club a penny.

Also... nowhere near 30 years to clear that debt.

Sadly this will result in a likely 6th place finish getting dumped by Leipzig out of the champions league, little chance of winning the fa cup .

surely it would have been worth taking a chance and spending on a striker . How much would we lose in revenue not qualifying for the champions league ?? More than it would cost to get a decent forward in .

just seems ludicrous that we probably now won’t get the goals that would help close the gap on Chelsea . Madness
