Certainly not. The Goat tells what he hears, there's nothing else to add right now.

The Goat has also seen what happens when JJ gets involved in Q&A's and will not be pampering the fishwife fraternity.

entirely fair and understood. (y)

A little worrying I guess, but i'm not that bothered really. Things can change and if we do sign someone else there's every chance one of them might still move on.

yes but i'm hearing we will only sign 1 striker anyway, so we can't afford to sell either ade or defoe, its just a little underwhelming if we end up with just villa as our summer striker (baring in mind we are willing to splash out on paulinho)

Spurs transfer windows are always underwhelming ;)

Well all that recent ITK is just fan-dabby-doozy, brilliant news all round.

Paulinho and Villa in, and Damiao can fuck off, perfect day of ITK!

Seems to me that we've been trying to buy Damiao for three years and now that Internacionale have indicated they will sell we've started negotiating by saying too late not sure we want him now.:)

There's no way we will get Villa if he isn't coming to be the central striker. Kind of bodes well for any potential deal for Bernard IMO

What about an "Ask Dan Goat-croft" thread then?

Villa would be a great signing imo and the goats update kinds of makes sense with the media noise and itk about it. I think both POTL and JJ said we were in for him about 3 weeks back and there have been no updates to suggest he'd rejected us whilst he himself made it clear he wasn't making a decision yet.

The media (including Burt) have been saying that Villa is AVBs preferred striker and its been mentioned in the articles about him deciding to reject PSG. There was that female journalist who said Baldini would be a huge plus in our favour in terms of getting Villa too so maybe with Baldini on board and the whole PSG in for AVB thing maybe we've furthered the interest.

Interesting news re Villa, i assume this would spell the end for Dempsey, previous ITK stated Defoe would be sold if the right bid came in, i can see this linking up well with the Damiao news in as such Defoe would be easy to sell in the last week hour 5 minutes if internacional relented on the Damiao price..

Yay no Damiao hopefully and I don't know why people are pissing and moaning about this - surely it means he's not our top striker target anymore (and rightly so) and we're looking at other players? We're hardly going to bring in a DoF and fend PSG off from AVB and then knob him over with some deadline day bullshit and no striker - we clearly have other striker irons in the fire.

Levy still wouldn't mind having him but won't get dicked by Inter over it as we have before - I wouldn't be surprised if we sign another striker and then drop out of the move for Damiao altogether - leaving him and the Inter chairman wishing they'd accepted one of the many previous offers they're supposed to have turned down for him.

Plus I don't want Damiao.

I agree with you regarding damio but I would be very worried with a frontline of villa adebayor and defoe as cant play up top on his own and his goals tend to dry up as the season goes on.
Personally I would rather let defoe go and go after someone else as well as villa as his age will be against him I hope this is not tight arse cut corners Tottenham again.

re Villa, shouldn't quibble as he is a world class striker of his type but is he the 'type' of striker we require who will lead the line on his own and be a physical threat

Boom!!!

I knew it, ADe + Defoe + one other striker + if the price is right we get LD.

Make much more sense to sell JD in January after hes scored his 11 goals then he is in good form press talking him up as next RVP etc etc adding couple millions to sell on fee and by then Villa/Leandromeo/Soldado/AnOther have "acclimatised" to EPL to go on and score a gazillion goals as THFC finally sweep up EPL/FAC/EL trophies in time to open top bus them past empty crates pointing out the EL trophy as the one they will be playing for next season singing mind the gap mind the gap etc...etc...etc... :singing:

Paulinho, Guarin, Hernanes, MCarthy ? Good that we seem to be keeping our options open in the CM chase, and tbh, it's great having AVB as manager as he is so much more open to exciting global talent, which in turn allows us to empty our loads more regularly.

I like the look of the list that seems to be formulating. Some are preferable to others, but all in all, I'm a fan of the vast majority of players we seem to be going for. The likes of Nainggolan, Cabaye etc have also been mentioned at certain points
