Morning ITK fans
My wife and I were discussing what song we each would like played at our funerals.

"I want something memorable," she said, "something that will bring everyone close together"

"I know what you mean" I said softly as I made my way to the CD player, "something like this?"

The look she gave me as I bounced around to the conga was proper evil.

And now for a song.........Jerrygarcia has written and recorded this for us.........It's a version of The Beatles 'The Ballad of John and Yoko' and it's called 'The Ballad of Daniel Levy', it's all his own work. Brilliant.

Here's the link to the Mp3

And here's the lyrics
-The Ballad of Daniel Levy-

VERSE 1

Waiting for a plane out of Gatwick,
Trying to get to Spain or France,

He said "I'll give it a bash, with this wheelbarrow of cash,
You know they never even gave him a chance

Christ you know it ain't easy, you know how hard it can be
The way things are going, the fans will crucify me.

VERSE 2

JJ phoned him up for some info,
Asked him something 'bout yellow and blue,

Don't worry he said, we've got a deal with Madrid,
We can always get a player on loan

Christ you know it ain't easy, you know how hard it can be
The way things are going, the fans will crucify me.

VERSE 3

Watching the game on the weekend,
Sitting in his box at the Lane

He's got no hair on his dome, and he's the size of a gnome
But he's the best chairman, in the League

Sometimes it looks so easy, though it's as hard as can be
The way things are going, the fans will deify me

Saving all your money for the deadline day,
Check for ITK on Spurs Community

Last night AVB said, cant we even sign Fred?
We've been linked with him since I was seventeen...

VERSE 4

Levy puts a bid in for Willian,
.... "fifteen million should do"

Shakhtar say no but Levy's back on the phone,
Says, "His value's down to fourteen two"

Christ you know it ain't easy, you know how hard it can be
The way things are going, the fans will crucify me.

VERSE 5

We used to be linked with Rivaldo,
Andy Van Der Meyde and Dave,

But now we've got Sandro, Lloris, Lennon and Bale
We can challenge for the Champions League

Sometimes it looks so easy, though it's as hard as can be
The way things are going, the fans will deify me.

Verse 6

Daniel works his magic on Barca,
Flys Messi in, is this a dream?

But the deal falls through, at eleven '0 two
There was a problem with the fax machine

Christ you know it ain't easy, you know how hard it can be
The way things are going, the fans will crucify me,

The way things are going, the fans will crucify me.

THE END

Please give orgasmic amounts of rep to Jerry when you next see him. Genie-eye!

PS: Goodnight!

I don't see what the problem would be if we went out and spent a lot of money on a talented young player who we could easily recoup the money for if we had to. As I see it, investment to guarantee a top 4 spot is just a smart idea. If we brought in Holtby and someone like Willian this window, we would pretty much be nailed on for a CL place which means greater revenue AND more chance of landing big sponsorship deals, which would help in our quest to build a new stadium.

I understand if Daniel Levy is saying we aren't going to spend money, when he really intends to wait until the last few days to get good deals for the players he wants, but I don't understand if our intention is simply not to spend money. We are in a great position right now it would be foolish not to go for it.

.

Playing devil's advocate- what happens if we spend £25 million on those two, Arsenal spend 30 on Goetze and Chelsea and Liverpool invest too. We aren't nailed on for anything and have spent at a premium for two players that we are doing well without. Investing big may force the hands of the others- it is one of the advantages of doing our work late- others don't have the chance to react

We have been in this position a few times and DL has never spent to money to help us, so why now. A lepoard never changes its spots..

I'm hoping if the gooners manage to pull off Goetze that DL might think Fooking ell and pull his finger out.

But can't see him joining them and DL will leave his fingers where they are
