Constantly throwing away points at the start of a season is one of the factors on why we always fall short.

Doesn't mean we will see the fruits of the labour within 48hrs. For all we know players have been given that as a deadline to decide, but we might not know for sure until a few days after that.

You're quite right: it could take 72 hours before Senna has its effect.

I think Berahino too. The close stories have been much more credible than the £10m apart one. And with signing Lambert and that CB, they've already been spending the money they are expecting.

The itk in his thread seems to think he has ambitions for a top 4 team but his new agents are trying to convince him to come to spurs. If no interest materialises they reckon he will be a spurs player.

48 hours would suggest that some deals are 'done' and just tying up loose ends.

Adebayor is possible but as @Trix has said he's totally unpredictable so if it happens in 48 hours, great but if its in a week or two, so be it. A Soldado exit looks more predictable, and I'd expect a striker in about the same time, Possibly Werner as he has the strongest ITK atm - doubt if its Berahino as there's rumours of other suitors to prolong the negotiations.

Nothing recent on Lennon that I can recall, so the only other possibilities of out are youngsters like Grant Hall and Ryan Fredericks who look likely to go.

This all looks sensible to me, but I am still holding out hopes for Berahino.

Must admit, i'm growing increasingly frustrated with our fan base and the impatience that we haven't signed anyone for a few weeks. Some are behaving like selfish brats, demanding that we should just "annouce a signing already" almost to the point where they dont even care who it might be.

Not sure how many times the likes of Trix, JJ, Grey Fox etc have to remind the rest of us that signing a player isn't as black and white as some seem to think it should be.

We've not been short on ITK by any stretch. The business we've done so far has seemed to be well thought out and careful in its approach, nothing like how we've done things in the past.

I'm delighted with the club this summer and I'm confident that we'll see something happen this week. However, even if nothing does materialise then I'm sure there will be more valid reasons for it other than "oh that bald little bastard is just being tight fisted again". I mean seriously, give us all a break please.

Agreed. There are 165 updates in the RO. Quite a lot, when you think of it.

Im the same as you i dont want us to lose points because the squad is not up to full strength yet, but was reminding you of how we do business nothing we can do about it.
Personally i believe that the transfer window should shut before the season starts, then every club will be done in time for kick off and we would be at maximum strength.

If Berahino or anything else is happening in the next 48 hours then I'd expect something significant to hit the press today. Currently the suggestion with SB at least is that it is likely to drag while he assesses his options and we try and wear WBA down on the fee.

I think his only chance of an alternative top 6 move was to Liverpool, but they went for Ings and Benteke instead.

The top 4 shop at different supermarkets to where Berahino is - they don't go for expensive raw talent, they buy finish products (or cheap H/G squad fillers).

I think we are the best offer he'll have

The only time I'll believe a "next 48 hours will be busy" ITK post is on 29th August... and even then I wouldn't be convinced!

Personally I think there is a big difference between various questionable twitter accounts and our trusted ITKs.
When I see a post quoting tweets from "EDS_SomeToplessModell" and "48 hours", it means it won't happen.
When it comes from Grey Fox (& co), I believe it until proven otherwise.
I don't believe actual ITK accounts have given 48 hours promises this summer (before today)?

Grey Fox has given us some top information over the years and he doesn't deserve to have the piss ripped out of his info. He's passed on what he's heard and if it comes off then it comes off, if it doesn't then we might never know why, but he has always passed on his information in good faith and it'd be nice if some of you returned that. He hears what he hears, that's it. All this is going to accomplish it to make him, or any other ITK for that matter, wonder if its worth bothering in future.

So shut up, take your salt and start to act responsibly and sensibly. Or leave. Whichever.

I just hope whoever it is can come in and make an impact straight away. Werner seems like a decent prospect but no better than Lamela, Pritchard, Eriksen, Chadli and maybe Townsend (right now, potential is much higher) so he's not necessarily going to improve us from the off. Glad if we sign him but strengthening our starting 11 is key in my opinion

Exactly….what we've seen this window (for some unknown reason) is a lot of reading between the lines, guesses as to 'hidden meanings', second guessing and extreme over analysis of some pretty clear ITK.

I have no idea why that is.

Happened a lot to Bob Dylan too.

Pretty obvious when Adebayor and Soldado go, which is looking very likely, that we'll probably move officially for some of our targets. I'm sure we've made plenty of progress on some of these deals behind the scenes and its just a case of getting rid of some these big earners first.

I'm sure we could get in our targets first, but I understand that it would be preferable to get these big earners off the books first. Just gives more peace off mind and confidence to secure your preferred targets, I'd imagine.

If we're waiting for Bobby and Ade to bugger off, before signing replacements, it makes sense that the timeframe is constantly shifting. As it seems both of the guys we're trying to shift are making slow work of it.

At the beginning of the season we did. And we bought 3 players. Now things might be different.

Levy said that we would buy more players but might have to wait till the last couple of weeks of the window as players become available. Quality players will be holding out to see if bigger clubs will come in for them. If they don't then we have a great chance of getting them. Bobby and ade are probably doing the same. sending out their agents to see if anyones interested.
