So regarding the mathematical facts that ITK is not as aplenty as it once was, let me ask. Is this a situation where once Mo arrives we will see more stories? Or is that Levy has really closed up a lot of leaks (which may have been leaks he wanted at the time)? Or is it just the World Cup?

I think Levy plugged the biggest leak when Harry was given the heave ho, he did like to have a good chat. Volume may be down but quality may actually be up, if you're still in the know it's probably because you know someone (or are someone) relatively important to the club and are not part of the temporary regimes that come and go.

The world cup tends to increase rumours....It is THE event in the footballing world, managers, players, club execs, agents, media and hangers-on all pour into one place and socialize.

The littlest thing tends to kick up a rumour.....Baldini at lunch with an agent, well Spurs are obviously interested in the biggest name the agent represents. Poch happens to be at a match and his ticket is next to Zidane, well shit...Real and Spurs are talking about someone because it can't have to do with high profile people getting preferred seating at a match. Someone has a friend who is an agent and that agent had dinner with an agent for another player and.....rumour

Problem is that because much information gets tossed up in the air that it becomes difficult to tell what is what remotely true and what is a blatant pile of BS because so much is similar either way. New legitimate ITKs may appear but with so much floating around some "ITKs" (not to mention journos) are bound to get something right if they throw enough a stories out, but becomes difficult to figure out which ones are legit ITK and which ones are posting a pile of crap that they heard from someone.

True but any ITK or alleged ITK is better than nothing? Imagining that we may be about to sign a the new South American/Eastern European wonderkid puts a smile on your face for the day. At least it keeps site coffers up anyway.

Kemsley was always the biggest leak. God do I wish he would come back just for that.

I do think that Levy is smart enough to utilize ITK to gauge fans. As much as we like to think he doesn't give a flip what we think, I'm sure he likes to have a gauge of overall sentiment, so he probably wants some of it to get through at certain times. And obviously he doesn't want it to get through at others........Willian maybe.

Hey guy's first post so go easy. I am happy with the Lovren link, think he could form a decent partnership with Jan and with Vlad as back up. I am not to sure about the Jay Rod links though, I just think we can do better and should aim higher.

Am I the only one who's a bit underwhelmed by Rodriguez (if all true)? To me he just seems like one of those players in which a club like Southampton is perfect for him to shine at. I don't think he'd go for less than £10m and I wouldn't want us paying over that for him as well.

As poor as I thought he was and actually as much as Rodriguez would have most likely done better (although that's not hard really) I think I'd rather see Soldado under new management. I'm hoping he'll seem like a new signing.

Well technically he does say 'as far as my guy knows', so unless all the Southampton players use the same agency as his source they might not know for sure who is or isn't on our list...

Rodriguez scored 15 Premier League goals last season.

No Spurs player managed that. They all aimed higher...

Rodriguez in - ? out

Don't think we will sell Kane but wouldn't rule out a loan move to a Premier League club and if we are selling any striker then hopefully it's Adebayor over Soldado but money rules.

Rodriguez is a neat little player but think it would serve him better another season at Southampton rather than a club like ours right this minute.

Happy to hear that Lovren is potentially still high on the agenda. Him and Verts together just sounds like an ideal partnership to me. That said i thought the same about Verts & Kaboul so who knows.

If we can land Lovren I'd be happy for us to settle on the CB's we have, even look to sell one if we had to - probably Daws sadly.

Along with having played for Pochttino, Lovren has also played with Lloris so that will be a bonus if we do eventually get him. Their understanding will be important if we are to have a better defense next year.

Exactly. The advantages to this are extremely valuable, and would make whatever we'd pay for him very worth it. I think we need to go all out to make this guy our first choice CB target of the summer.

As for J Rod, I'm glad to at least hear through ITK what I was hoping, that we'd only bite if we can work the price way down. I would be most displeased if this guy comes in at the expense of some other targets that could play LW though. Yes, he's been more successful in the Prem to date and yes he's played for Poch, but I don't think it's as vital in the forward positions as being familiar in the stretched defensive positions and I don't think he adds anything particularly different than Chadli does.

No. My mate is not an agent. He was a director at another club(now retired), but still fronts most of said clubs charity work. As such he is in daily contact with the players and their agents. All this latest stuff re Poch and the Saints players, has come from an agent, who works for the agency that represent Lovren. He was bang on about Poch quite early on, so who knows(but it is only agent talk). I very rarely get anything re Spurs unless it involves the club my guy works for.

No chance Saints will sell J Rod this window IMO. Already lost lambert and he is young enough not to be desperate for the move. Got one more season there definitely.

Lovren on the other hand will leave without a shadow (again my opinion!) and it would be off if we weren't very interested.
