I don't get this idea that we have simply lost the goals that Bale and Vinicius provided. It's basically suggesting that new players can't score and players can't improve their goal tallies from previous seasons. Maybe, just maybe, a change of approach and less dropping deep will help certain players score more. Also improved fitness can help players score later in games. I think the key from last season was to strengthen at the back and we've done that. It's not the perfect window but it's a good window.

History also tells us that a 19 year old kid can conquer from Germany to India in 12 years. History means nothing when predicting the future.

I think Dele will get into double figures this season, Lucas & Steve B will have better returns this season. Who knows how many PEH might get from CM with the extra freedom he has been given with Skipp in the team?

The whole talk around who will score the goals is so simplistic its ridiculous.

As simplistic and ridiculous as the "Traore will get loads of assists playing with Kane and Son" argument. He's never posted decent assists or goals (as he can't shoot) and it's a massive ask for him to suddenly do it now. But pay £50m anyway...
