hope they have good no. 2 preferences in hand because any good businessman would. Look, we are in a good position this year because and only because we got to the CL final and we have a great manager and a great new stadium. We must utilise this position. It cannot be this good again. The stadium is only new once. Any new manager cannot have the present prestige of Poch. Will we be Premiership champions or CL finalists again in the next few years. Well not, in my opinion, without serious investment now.I think @Bulletspur 's point may be that a player might like us and our offer, but may like a different club and their offer better. If, say Spurs offer a player £110k a week, but Barca come in with an offer of £100k, then that player may prefer Barca even if their wage offer is lower. As has been said, transfers are complex things, and even if a player has made noises that they are keen for a move to us, that doesn't preclude the possibility of them changing their minds and choosing someone else. Levy can't hold a gun to a player's head and force them to sign for us (much as we might all crave that!)
I have no doubt that Levy is doing all he can to bring in fresh players, ones that can help us build on the foundation we've set in place with the new facilities and the serendipity of our increased prestige around the world. But, there will always be limits to what we can and can't achieve. That makes the next couple of weeks important, but there will always be the risk of failure.
Sorry I probably just overstayed my posts but............it’s not the failure in anything the Spurs try to do........it’s the hope!!!
The itk is looking good and I just hope we will deliver.
