There's no right back currently at the market, bar maybe Cancelo, who is worth 40m+. Would much rather get Atal for closer to 30m.

Not sure I agree with that - players like Alexander-Arnold, Kimmich, Ricardo Pereira would all cost £40m plus and I reckon Atal would cost closer to £40m because there's a lot of interest in him from clubs like PSG. Just think we should view right back as a position no less valuable financially than any other.

Re Ali Z, So basically Ndombele, Clark, & the Sessegnon’s. Everything else depends on outgoings and so far it seems like none are really close. Have I got that tight?

I’m fine with keeping Toby if what he says is the case. But i cant imagine nobody comes in for him. It’s £25m. For a player like Toby, that is an insanely good price. Someone will come in for him eventually. Just hope it isnt an English club.

depends if they want to pay the wages he wants

Based on JJs premature announce-alation comment and the fact we never have things come easy I’m already internally accepting that he’s going to Juventus!!

Very good ITK from Ali Z and Breezer.

Seems like Ndombele is to Poch what Van Dijk was to Klopp. Fantastic if we seal this deal against huge competition.

Zaha is an interesting one. If Eriksen stays maybe it would be better to use the money set aside for Lo Celso on a top class attacker. Son, Kane, Zaha would be a deadly lineup to face. I suspect in the end Palace will be too awkward to deal with, but can see why we'd look at it. Either player would round the squad off.

Also good to hear that some outgoings are progressing well.
As much as I can't stand Liverpool FC, if Ndombele has the same or similar an effect on us as Van Dijk did for them then that would be fantastic.

Makes sense to step away from GLC if Betis are playing silly buggers over the fee, especially with other deals to close. Especially with him at the Copa still.

Park it to one side until GLC returns, get him to apply a bit of pressure and hopefully a compromise can be found.

RB - Personally I think this is a key area, and if Poch wanted AWB then paying the £45-50m reported to seal it would have been a real 'big club' move. Hopefully it means we have decent targets in the lower price range though (Aarons/Atal).

I thought our RB fall back position was Hiroko Sakai ??

It's not small club mentality. When we gave kane his new deal i'm sure we told him that £200k a week plus add ons was the highest we could go with wages. What is he going to think if we start paying bale £600k a week?
£600k a week, there is no way we are paying that for any player !

Based on the ITK it looks like we're signing one first team player and three prospects.

Doesn’t feel like enough given that one is a 6 month late replacement for Dembele. Hope there is more to come.

Would love us to still sign Lo Celso but it creates one hell of a selection headache with current faves at risk of not even making the bench.

If Eriksen stays and the rumoured change of formation it makes us less reliant on him for creativity.

With the ITK that Trippier is on the way, may be it’s a case of Eriksen stays and the Lo Celso funds are being redirected to bring in a new RB and the ‘mystery’ player.
Mate if it improves the team I couldn't give two shits about the current favorites.

Aside from that, I personally think Eriksen should go this summer, I have a feeling quite a few will disagree but lets be honest Eriksen will probably go in a couple of years max anyway after signing the deal to one of the super clubs. Why not do the deal now, bring in Lo Celso and an attacker like Zaha, we will be able to afford that and improve at the same time, rather than stalling a few years. Maybe its time for a refresh in that area. Thanks Eriksen, was actually my favourite Spurs player tbf until Son went crazy, excellent player and has done his time I think. Won't be annoyed if he stayed though anyway of course.

Signing one of the most highly rated young CMs for a club record fee is pretty significant. As would be keeping Eriksen and Toby. Ryan Sessegnon would probably make most matchday squads too.

RB to come in if/when Trippier is sold.

I think that is extremely positive ITK personally!

Add in Lo Celso/Bale/Zaha for dreamland.

That's not what I'm saying. Trent, Kimmich etc would all obviously cost above 40m. What I'm saying is, of the right backs that would actually be available for us to get, they realistically aren't worth more than 40m.

I think by currently on the market he meant literally that - players who are available for transfer / likely to move this summer.

Probably the position we need addressing most after a central midfielder but we're not willing to pay more than £40m for a right back?!

That is a silly viewpoint from us. Good full backs are expensive for a reason - they aren't easy to get hold of.

We only have to look at how much better we were with £50m valued Kyle Walker.

It just depends who is out there, doesn’t it? I can’t think of too many RB’s commanding a £40m tag other than AWB and I’m not sure he really fits the profile Poch is looking for. AWB hasn’t really shown a great deal going forward and while he has looked good defensively is he still going to look good defensively when transitioning from a position high up the pitch. Defending while tracking back is a totally different skill to defending when already back.

If Poch doesn’t think he is right for what we are trying to do and there are players that have a cheaper tag that he does like then I don’t see a problem with it.

Interesting about Zaha when Ornstein reporting this morning he wants Arsenal.

Arsenal won't sign him, they can barely afford Tierney apparently.

I would also imagine that Zaha would welcome being signed by any of the top 6 clubs, except for Utd possibly, so if we're interested then I'm sure he'd be happy to move here.
