It was a british term.
Made up by toffs, so it doesn't count.

Ha! So clever....if it's a Reggae band, you can just stand at the back and ting.
Made up by the people who ran the game. Football refers to games played on foot (rather than on horse back) with a ball. It also covers both forms of rugby. Association football was referred to as soccer and rugby was obviously refered to as rugby. Eventually we started just calling it football though.
As opposed to 'Football' in the American sense which involves the feet of only one/two people per team actually coming into contact with said 'Ball'
(And I've been a 49'ers fan for 25 years!)
You've been sitting on that one all day haven't you?
Not talking about Stamford Bridge. Talking about them possibly incorporating NFL capability into the design for the new stadium that they're working on, thus making them a competitor to us as main host for a franchise should that come to a fruition (probably 10+ years from now). Probably (hopefully) won't happen for reasons already cited herein. But why play at a ground not suited to the NFL when you have one specifically built with the NFL in mind (and with an artificial turf field)

I only brought them up in speculation as to what competition there might be to us in eventually hosting an full time NFL team full time. Aside from the Chelsea project I foresee no others likely to arise over the next 20-30 years or so that could be developed with NFL in mind. So long as they don't go that way we should have a clear run.
Chelsea have no place to fit a retractable pitch. Meaning they would face the same problems as wembley.
I'd just like to day that the piece of ITK from Gabe yesterday was legendary. He got every detail right, and shows how valuable ITK still is.
We all know Soldado's shooting is slightly off, but surely he can't miss the Universe from 4 yards out?Miss universe?
