I hope Martinez isn't being considered.

Mr nice? No thanks.

"So Roberto you just lost 5-0 at home to Arsenal...that's got to hurt."

Martinez - "No, they're a wonderful team and they fully deserved to win by that many goals because they are such a superior team to us. No complaints. I'm such a nice guy. Can you please excuse me...I have to go to the opposition dressing room and get butt-fucked by Wenger repeatedly then give him my credit card and pin number."

Martinez would last 6 months at best. Could do well at a club like Villa or Newcastle but would be a failure at Spurs.

I think tomorrow will pass by without incident, as will most of the summer.
Harry will still be in charge and we will make 2 -3 reasonable signings. Modric to still be here.
Thats my prediction

Pre Chelsea AVB yep, post Chelsea nope. The same sort of doubts I have with Capello in that the English related fuck up means he'll be fighting negativity from the start, especially in the media. And we shouldn't forget he really did make a pig's ear of things at Chelsea. They were awful. I'm sure he'll prove himself again elsewhere, but I wouldn't be too keen to see him here at the moment.

It'll never happen in a trillion years but Levy should offer pep a thousand pounds a second and give him a 10 year contract so he can work his magic from the youth onwards over a long period of time. Yeah.

Why do you think Pep would be able to replicate his Barça success here?
He wouldn't replicate it on all probability because we don't have several of the worlds best players, and he has set a high bar with two CLs and three Liga titles. However, he would improve us. Before him Barca were a collection of some wonderful individuals. He brought them the organisation, work ethic and teamwork which has allowed them to play the precise, beautiful football they've played under him. So while I don't want Redknapp out, I do believe that we'd be trading up for guardiola. Anyway, it'd never happen.

See Chelsea have all but wrapped up hulk..

Why are all these players signing for high paying Chelsea when they don't even have a manager in place?
Who is making these signings? do they even have a director of football?

Well kind of. His name is Roman Abramovic

Which itk was it who said Mourinho has seriously recommended AVB to Levy?

I can't remember who it was, but I read that somewhere too.
It doesn't really make sense to me though, because apparently they fell out big time and Mourinho constantly unsettled the Chelsea 'old guard' during AVB's tenure there via phone and text messages. Maybe that was bollocks? Who knows...

They don't care as long as they can say they're playing for the European Champions and are being fed wheelbarrows full of cash. They know someone big will be brought in sooner or later...

Couldn't you as easily suggest the same for the other five teams?

All six clubs had a core of 8-9 players who started over two-thirds of all league games. Ours, no surprise whatsoever, comprised Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, Benny, Bale, Modric, VdV, Parker and Ade. You've then got a dozen or so more making between one and 20 starts, and a few odd bods making a handful of sub experiences. As far as we're concerned, it's a pretty safe assumption that Lennon, Dawson, Huddlestone and Sandro would have figured more prominently had injury not prevented them.

You could argue it.
But sometimes you have to believe the evidence of your eyes as well as believing what the stats are saying.
The evidence of my eyes told me that we only played players other than the core of the team when players who formed the core of the team were injured, more or less - and that is not a rotation policy.

If you can find one example of where i have 'neg repped' someone for mentioning dos santos, i would be extremely interested to see this.

i dont care enough about the 'rep' system to bother annoying people by giving them bad feedback. I come on here to have a look at the transfer rumours, read the itk and give my views in some of the threads, whereas if you see something you disagree with, you seem intent on airing that view and starting a feud.

your probably a grown man, with a house/job etc, its an internet forum, let it go mate. (although i highly doubt that you are seeing as your picture is of a teddy bear, although each to their own i guess)

Hahahahahaha you tried to be the bigger man but then couldn't resist could you? That was genuine funny. If I wasnt on the iPhone I'd show you loads of posts where you've gIven people neg ratings for mentioning Dos Shitos, how do you think I even know what you're about?

Anyway, moving on, I still rind this hard to fathom if it is going to happen, and struggle to see why we've waited this long and lost out on potentially one of Levy's candidates. Seems a bit weird for Levy to save a few quid if he wanted to get Rodgers in. I'm not sad that we haven't though.

Don't get the Ancelotti loving either, made a right balls up of the season in France considering they had unlimited funds.

Not sure on AVB, someone made a good point in another thread about how he seems intelligent because of the way he speaks but he doesn't actually say anything of any note, and pretty sure his gravel voice would do me in after a while.

Looks like it's back to Moyes or someone from outside the league again then.

Capello is damaged goods now, dont think he has a shot in England the players won;t take him seriously - much like McClaren.

Would love Ancelotti and am sure he would happily walk away from PSG for a job in London. The guy is a winner and gets his teams playing some really good stuff. Plus a massive name in European football could attract top players.

Have said for a while if the links with Txiki Bergistrain (sorry on spelling) are to be believed then Rijkaard could be coming with him, that would be massive.

Also agree that I DO NOT want Martinez, I mean he got Wigan to play for like 7 games this season and just kept them up .... I don't think that good criteria if we don't want to continue with Harry

I was under the impression that DL was sold on the idea of employing a DOF and only suspended his preference to accomodate Harry.
So if Harry goes Txiki Begiristain with Rijkaard or AVB would make sense. Levy needs to delegate more.

I could totally see Levy going back to a DoF.

I expect Harry to be in charge next week, and I bet we won't have news of him signing a new contract any time soon either. Status quot for a while, though maybe we'll sign Vertonghen in the next week or two. It'd be nice to have Vert tied up sooner rather than later.

I'm slightly jaded. But I still love the ride.

What's up with you? Same old SS57, some things never change. If I told you the sky is blue you'd still argue it.

No, I wouldn't. What a damnfool statement.

Guardiola's had two managerial jobs, both of them with (arguably) the best club in the world, one with which he spent virtually his entire playing career. He has coached nowhere else. Would you care to explain to me how this guarantees he will take Spurs 'to the next level'?

Others mentioned Rijkaard, conveniently forgetting that was fuck all use at Sparta and Galatasaray.
