How did the club treat him badly? Some of the fans were OTT and that's about it. And he deserved some of the criticism (not the over the top stuff) because he was shite last season and was hardly trying, just jogging back. One good season and that means people deserve to go to Top 4 clubs? So he's supposed to refuse an undoubtedly lucrative offer and be held captive to a club whose supporters and hierarchy kicked him to the dirt and shit for most of his time with us? That is incredibly selfish. I'm not advocating it and I'll hate to see him go, but he a) deserves interest from City for his performances this season and b) doesn't owe us a fuckin thing after the way the club and supporters treated him last season. If anything, we're lucky he'll still be garnering us a massively overpaid fee from a desperate City after the way we treated him.
"Fuck you, you're goddamn awful and are a pathetic excuse for a defender."
One year later:
"Alright then, one strong season, that's decent. Now stay here another year with us and refuse that offer for Champions League, genuine title challenges, and a fat salary and play for me."
Ridiculous.
There seems to be this ridiculous notion going about this site that players are too good for the club which is complete and utter horse shit and the only possible and slight exception could be that of Lloris and even that is a push. Rose is not too good for us and yes it does piss me off that after one decent season he expects to be sold. Surprisingly enough, I don't support Rose or any individual player over the club and if they are going to think they are too good for my great club after one decent season, you're goddamn right I will get pissed off with them. It's ****ery in my book to think too good for a club after one decent season, especially when the season before they were utter shite for the club and then look to leave straight away.
