Anything recent from the Journalist, wasn't today the day he might have had more information on the German targets?

He effectively said exactly the same as he's been saying for the last few days. It should be posted in Steve's update thread, I think.

Maybe a flukish hattrick against Everton will gain back confidence by Defoe and he goes on a tear scoring 10 in the next 6 games.

Levy can save 20 million to add to the next window.

What about the remaining 32 league games of the season.....

"Fans" like you are certainly likely to put players off

Ha ha good one! (wonders how many games you go to a season?)

Why would i put him off? I rate him as a player.. Think he'd be a great edition to the squad. But seriously.. Why choose Spurs over Juve? What can we offer him that the old lady can't bar the Europa League?

Juve are the one of if not the biggest team in Serie A .. Brand Spanking new Stadium next season & sure to make a realistic challenge for the league next season..

Bigger Club alround, so sure to be granted better wages...

So I say it again why choose Spurs?!

Why I am taking the piss?! What makes us a big draw to players?

The EPL
Modric/Bale/VDV
Be part of a talented young squad
London
Respected Manager
Good stadium/atmosphere
Great performance in the CL
Consistantly near the top 6
Europa League
Attractive football

(not in order)

(Just realised this debate is not for this thread so apologies to the mods)

You caused that reaction by your previous statement. You came across as a total WUM. Had you said what you have written above it would have stimulated debate rather than defensive replies.

Incidentally, if I was a professional footballer I would be one money hungry, lady fucking, bastard. Unless Tottenham wanted me, then I would give a shit. These people are not fans, they are doing a job.

Against Everton a hattrick and 10 from the next 6 games. That leaves 31 games, not 32; and I won't mind an average of 1 in 3 in those games. If the rest of the guys chip in some, that might even be title hunting form.

It's so boring the past 3 weeks that one need to fantasize.

Devils Advocate:
The EPL - High paced hard football? Fuck that.
Modric/Bale/VDV- So will not be a stand out player? I want the glory!
London- Is a shithole
Respected Manager- WTF? Internationally? Fuck off
Good stadium/atmosphere - Yippee!
Great performance in the CL- which we are not in.
Consistantly near the top 6 - yippee, not winning things.
Europa League- fuck off
Attractive football- wow.

Juve aren't going to sign Vucinic and Rossi after just buying Quagliarella. If they go for one, we go for the other! I'd like either one at the Lane. Plus there is Llorente who i've always thought should be the striker we are looking for. Any one of those three would be great!

Well if our own fans wouldn't want to play for us then I guess we have no chance of persuading international footballers...

Need to offer more cash! That would make everything OK!

If Juve get Vucinic, we HAVE to get Rossi (well OK, or Llorente). Because otherwise I will actually cry. I will cry bitter salty tears.

They looking for a poacher...cheap PShip proven.
Option 2 young poacher.
Looking for a LB versatile to CB 2.

Would we sell Defoe to Liverpool? They are a rival for 4th.

And is the 2nd bit a Bassong hint? I guess he's more of a CB to LB though.

Spot on!

Fair point.. Should have posted in one hit.

Think people need to be a tad more realistic when it comes to certain "targets", especially when more lucrative opportunities are around for these players.

I can totally see why Levy plays the short term game, especially when he's managed to pull of a coup such as VDV... Express interest in these high calibre players who will genuinely improve the squad, get an idea of wages/ fee/ players interest in a move.. But ultimately realise that we may be playing second fiddle, as there maybe "better"/ more lucrative opportunities out there & hope pull off I last minute deal from the scraps

Who is to know only those in charge but if a player is stalling to sign for us i hope harry has the balls to walk away asap and tell that given player to do one. we def dont need that type of character. Leadership and charcter and personality is what harry said hewants imo. IM not liking the delay in vucinic stuff, its dragging and thats not good sign imvho.

personally i knew it would always go this way and i said all along we wont see a striker till last few days or week of window if at all. Personally i look at clubs like real madrid or big clubs looking to bring striker in and hope when they do that we might have a chance of nicking a striker then. It is a sad state of affairs though and day by day another target goes. thts why i was always for getting the rest of the team stronger and better. I still feel that way. Get a center half, winger and diarra in and if we get striker in last few days well and good.

I think abel hernadez was always a major target but his club are selling players like no tomorrow so i would not be so sure they wud want to sell him 2. Besids i know we will try and low ball the shit out of them. Were wasting our time with rossi for what its worth 2.

Defoe is the only one of our current strikers capable of scoring 20 goals next season. Crouch? Not a chance. Keane? Wont have 20 shots. Pav? Will have 20 shots a game, some from 50 yards, and score one wonder goal every 2 months.
Defoe is the only one capable of going on a scoring run. With a bit of confidence he could have a great season.

Off all our strikers I would keep him, but I still want rid of all 4.

We need a target man, an all round complete striker, and a speedster, someone to play on the shoulder like Hernandez.
