Gut feeling...we'll end up with Forlan out of the four mentioned, and I for one will be over the moon with him

I just don't get why we don't go and get Suarez. He's actually available, not strings, is priced at only a couple of mil more than bent, 5 more than we paid for Defoe or Keane two years ago. Scores goals, assists, works hard, good technique. Right age.

Benzema is the closest to the uber striker, but it's complicated and we could still bring him in even if we get Suarez, if we are unloading Pav and Keane, we could then also unload Crouch and Defoe for another 20-25m in the summer and bring in a cheaper third striker.

I've watched Fabiano about 20 times now, and while he may be an upgrade on the three amoebas (pav, Keane, Defoe) he's never overly impressed and Forlan plays where VDV does ?

we wont get a striker and will prob end up with beckham, neville and parker...

we will then proceed to finish below liverpool if they buy suarez.

I'm actually ok with the latest info, if it's true. None of the usual excitable stuff everyone gets their cocks out for, just good sensible info which could easily be true. I'm quite positive that we'll sign someone from Madrid on or just before deadline day due to our good relationship. It's not like they're Seville or West Ham who would try and make it as difficult as possible for us due to previous spats.

So, either Ben, Dia or both, then one or two other squad type players. Both Parker and Neville will strengthen our bench, though not the first 11.

Ill be very worried if Harry thinks what we have striker wise is good enough for 4th this year!

He has worked magic on our club but surely he cannot ignore the fact we need a striker.

If he is content then say goodbye to 4th.

We cant put everything in the VDV basket and hope it takes us into 4th again.....

....We will probably buy Parker and Neville. Maybe they can play up top.

Far too positive bomber. I'm afraid this thread is all about collective suicide and Spurs finishing below West Ham with nothing but a team of Nevilles to show for it.

I think forlan is the one we will get as he has actually admitted going to watch him and he has given his usual spiel about we can,t afford fees, wages etc like he does and then we sign them...

hes 31, he needs to start thinking about one last pay day.

Yes, Diarra's timing on his tackling was really poor, he was rash and was lucky to stay on the pitch.

I stand by what I said, I don't think he is for us. We lack real drive and will to win in the middle but we have a load of talent. He hasn't shown at any time that he is someone that I think we could count on.

I don't want Parker either incidentally.

I'm not champing at the bit for Diarra, I like him but I think he's only a marginal upgrade on Palacios, but I'd rather have Diarra than Parker.

I made a point of watching the Sev/Mad game because there were so many players we'd been linked to, and that I like watching.

Best players on the pitch were Navas (I'd swap him for Lennon tomorrow, if he could over come his home sickness) and Kanoute and Sevilla were very unlucky - seemed to me Real got the equivalent of ManU EPL refereeing.

Like I said above, I've seen Fabiano umpteen times now and not once has he blown me away. He's probably an upgrade on what we have and his movement is definitely more intelligent than Defoe's for example, but I worry the EPl won't exactly suit him.

Fabiano would be my last choice too. I'd take any of the others to be honest they are all better than what we have. As for Forlan, he has played up front for Atletico alongside a smaller creative type forward in Aguero and prospered. Why couldn't he form a similar partnership with VDV. In fact he out of all of them has a track record of playing that role and playing it pretty successfully (if earning a couple of golden boots can be classed as successful).

I've been a member of this site since 2004 and i just want to give my opinion on this.. as a matter of interest i never believe ITKs... even more so if they speak cryptically... What a ridiculous practice. I think they ruin transfer windows...

Take our current bunch... anyone wonder why they are all telling different stories about different players, surely there should be some coincidence between them.. Someone has to be bullshitting or at least passing on bullshit.

I'd love if someone went out and really did an analysis on the ITKs, when they broke news on targets versus the other media outlets, how right compared to how wrong they are... etc. I know they won't because in fairness who would be bothered.

It just seems like they can mention whomever they like however they like and we are supposed to "wow" them if it comes true. A stopped clock is right twice a day after all.

Just my opinion.. don't mean to annoy or offend... i just think its all a bunch of testicles.
