i know u didn't mean us, but he was so good last season i don't think they will sell him after one season, not after what happened to them when they sold eto'o for ibrahimovic
They looking to offload Bojan. We use to rate the lad. Any news?

leandro isn't going to set out a message of intent to Modric, we're going to need a bigger name striker aswell. I think a lot of these names (if not all) being talked about will want champions league.

Too early for us to buy as any players that we are interested in are still holding out for bigger moves. Real / barca need to make their moves and sign players. if Barca sign Fabregas / Sanchez...Rossi is suddenly off their radar and he might then consider us. If Real sign Neymar / Drogba...Adebayor is off their radar and might be available, even Benzema too

We need manu/Chav/Arse/Manc to make their moves too.

Very unlikely that a very good player will be blinkered enough to sign for us and not know whether he can get a better deal elsewhere.

The only name that we have been vaguely linked with that will show a statment of intent needed to show Modric we mean business is ETO. The others we have been linked in Damao, Rossi, Vucinivic, Adebayor, Parker, etc are not big names currently and certainly wont excite us fans and show Modric we truly mean business.

If we could pull off Eto some how the whole place will be lifted. Add a young striker like Damiao, and bring in Parker to replace the outgoing dead wood in midfield. O Hara, Palacios, Jenas (hopefully!) and also sign Adebayor (Dont like him as a person but think hes an absolute handful!) to replace Keane, Defoe, and Crouch, and Pav.

We will have a strike force of Eto,, Damiao, and Adebayor.

Could you imagine the excitement going to the Lane for the first game against Everton. The place will be buzzing and it will be a happy place once again! Modric will definately feel that we have the ambition needed and you know what? We would be a very good outside bet for the title.

Of course it wont happen, what do I know? I am just a fan!

In the context of our club, how on earth are these not big names? We would do amazingly well to get any of these.

There were reports that they would offer to sell Villa to raise money to bring in the **** from down the road.....

not sure if its true or not but he may be the one to give way in the team for him

Be interesting to see if me make a move for Forlan now that he is available for about £7mil. I'd be happy with his signing as long as we get in another striker like adebayor or Rossi.

Atletico Madrid say striker Diego Forlan is likely to return to England after they made him available for transfer.
The Uruguay international marksman has been a huge hit in Spain following his largely unsuccessful spell with Manchester United.
And that has not stopped the rumour mill surrounding the striker as he has been consistently linked with a Premier League return in recent seasons.
The 32-year-old is now deemed as surplus to requirements at Vicente Calderon and that has alerted top-flight clubs in England, with Tottenham reportedly leading the chase.
Forlan has already rejected the opportunity to go to Turkey with Galatasaray and president Enrique Cerezo says the striker's first choice is the Premier League.
"Diego will decide what happens, but it looks like his first choice will be England," said Cerezo.

Hmmm, not sure if there has been any ITK on Forlan but that article is interesting.

To be fair, given the challenges we face and the fact that we don't have a sugar daddy like City or Chelsea, I think that Adebayor and Damiao would be a fantastic window in the striker department. Then keep one of the four we have. I'm not even that fussed which one we keep, they all have positives and negatives. In fact, somewhat controversially, Keano might even be my preferred choice. I like work rate in a striker.

IMO they do not send out the statement of intent that is needed to keep out top players happy and show we truly mean business. Im not saying that they would be bad signings but I think we need a truly Big name to get the feel good factor back at the Lane.

Adebayor - City reject.
Vucinivic - Massive gamble and unproven. Doesnt excite me at all.
Rossi - didnt cut the mustard at United and is currently at a small Spanish Club with very little pressure. Think he could be a good player for us but more in the Defoe mold but better rather than the typical "Number 9" we crave.

Just my opinion.

Eto on the other hand....

Interesting to see if we make a move for wickham today. I'd imagine That if we did, then it would suggest problems with the leandro deal.
Although as I was told earlier in the summer, it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to sign two from leandro wickham and lukaku, if it looked as though we could bring in a lead striker also. We have to raise the profile of the club, would a Rossi do that? All I know is that we are gonna be bold and aggressive, given the opportunity to sell the club, Harry believes we could persuade anyone. We're a massive club in a great city.

There are players at the club who are actively seeking pastures new. I don't think we will have too much of a problem shifting them.
Ryan, is Wickham any good?
I haven't seem him play, and he doesn't appear to have set the championship on fire. I would like an opinion if anyone has seen him perform.

Highly unlikely we'd sign someone out of the blue. If we were close to a transfer then someone would have picked up on it so if there is a transfer today I can only see it being Leandro.

And yet someone made a post yesterday pointing out that we signed BerbaGit and Modric out of the blue, with not a hint of ITK:up:

I'd desperately be hoping for some kind of movement before the beginning of July. It just seems that already everyone else is buying early to prepare for the season ahead, and we're stalling because we still have the likes of Bentley, Keane, Gio and Jenas on our books.
Can't see us buying before we sell, despite what the ITK's suggest.

That ITK-related constipation is a bugger, though, ain't itEek

At 32 years old, I'm not too sure about Forlan. Can anybody who watched La Liga last season tell me if he still has it?

I think Huguian or Benzema.
Adebayor with Benzema and Pav and Leandro wouldn't be too bad...

I think our 4 strikers will include VDV. It seems Pav could be staying, we'll see how these contract negotiations progress.
That leaves us signing 2 new strikers with Laurel & Hardy off to create another fine mess somewhere else.

People keep saying this, he left Utd the summer Tevez signed for them, only gonna be one winner there.
