Thread refreshed.

Mr Whippy was found dead today with a flake up his arse, chocolate sprinkles on his cock and strawberry sauce on his bollocks.

Detectives say he topped himself.

From a lot of yesterdays thread (hey im six hours in front of you European guys) I just don’t get all this anti ”old” players……..Firstly, it is ITK, which DOES NOT equal gospel….surly you can remember that of all the itk we have had, to the actual people we signed, in the past, is a tiny percent.

Even if we assume the itk is correct, and we are interested in Parker, Drogba, Rio F…and anyone else i have missed…. It does not mean we will sign all 3, it also does not mean, as someone commented as belief !!, that Harry is going to replace our whole squad with 30 somethings. It also does not mean as some comments similar to “Harry just building a team for now, and fuck the future”

If you want to take the ITK, as correct, in that we would be interested in these players if they become / are available / gettable. (bearing in mind, some itk, has been unreliable at time. I mean the info not the itk person) then fine, but also look at the possible logic in it all, rather than your personal feeling about player xyz.

Heres one, we currently do not know if we are in the Europa. If we are in we need a bigger squad, than if we are not in. Even if we are not. is Rio such a bad idea, if say for example, Woodgate and or King are just not going to be able to play? Is Parker not a bad idea to replace Jenas and O’Hara?(itk on being sold).. Who don’t really play for us anymore.(don’t take into account what you think of these players, take into account the reality) Is Drogba not a better idea that all of our strikers put together?(itk on some being sold) (ok I was taking my point of view of said players …but you get the point) Surly it is impossible to disagree that Drogba would not be a good addition to the squad?

All this, he’s just thinking (Harry) for himself and the now, and will fuck up Spurs’s future, kind of comments….

Our future goal, is to become king of Europe, King of the prem etc (well mine is)…Our goal for next season is to, get back in the top 4, and secondary perhaps win a cup or 2…Here’s an analogy that might help.

If you are stuck on an island and the only way off it, is to cross the bridge to the next Island, which also has, as it is only way off, another bridge you need to cross to the next island…etc etc….Until you arrive at your Utopia . It is pointless to think or do anything about the crossing the other bridges until you have crossed the 1st one.(this is basically breaking the big Goal into small achievable goals as a plan to succeed)

If by buying some 30 something’s to gets us across the 1st bridge, then it will be well worth it.

If you want to believe that by doing this, Levy will take us down the Leeds route….Then I think you are wrong, and Levy history thus far excessively supports that.

We are all entitled to opinions, it is part of what makes us Human, Some opinions have more validity than others, but Opinion does not equal FACT or TRUTH. Harry is also entitled to his opinion, at least respect that.

On the Modric ITK...on sky sports he is quoted as saying this(in reference to staying at Spurs or not.)

"I think so. You can't predict things in football because anything can happen.
"But I am enjoying it here. The fans are amazing, the club is amazing. There are Croatians here. I really do enjoy it here.
"I'm not missing anything. I think this club can achieve a lot of great things. I think we can challenge for the Premier League and the cups.
"Like I said, you never know what is going to happen. You can say you are staying and then you leave. But I am happy here and I am not thinking about leaving."

Maybe we should be keeping Cors and Kranny then?

...but hold on, having crossed to the second island I find there's no rocks or timber here. If only I'd looked across the sea and saw that first because now I have to rebuild my first bridge so it's strong enough to carry materials over so I can start my second bridge.

Getting to fourth and better is one thing but let have the materials to push on from there, which does mean a balanced transfer approach. I for one trust Levy to make this a reality.

Yeah big hint there dropped by luka. Cue Red Nose bidding for Niko/other croats

Thats a big enough reason for us to keep our croats and/or buy another one now !!!

Carrying on from all the links to various older players I have a question for all. If we kept all our talented young players and added rio, Parker and drogba would this improve our squad? I think yes an I would be over the moon with these signings.

People wet themselves when they hear names like hazard banded around but what we lacked this year was leadership and a top striker. Assuming we still added a young striker like leandro I think it would be one of our best transfer windows.

Don't buy the Diarra rumour. Just re-hash IMO. Not a sufficient step-up in quality in the areas we need it and certainly not adding leadership that we need.

I think the Diarra ship has sailed. After looking at the ITK and IMO we will Get parker in early let two or three of jenas/wilson/o'hara/Niko. Then hopefully spend the real money in getting some decent strikers in.

I agree.

But the nay-sayers have been presented with these arguments in great detail several times previously. They will continue to wet themselves with the self-inflicted self-invented spectre of 'Arry selling all of our young talent and wheeling out an immutable first 11 with an average age of 37.

You are wasting your time appealing to reason with them...they will ignore you:wink:

hmmm another one with selective reading, please read where it says ANOTHER BRIDGE etc) also it is an analogy, not ACTUALLY ABOUT ISLANDS AND BRIDGES.........its about having 1 or 2 "older" player now, in order to have 4th etc next year. not having lots of future potential players who will be maybe great in 3-4 years time.... Cross 1 bridge at a time...not think about how you will cross bridge 3 when you haven't got your foot even on bridge 1 yet..(we r not in top 4 or CL)

Yes i agree, it does improve our squad, those of us that see the logic of the idea, are failing to get those that don't...do

I think Diarra is more likely to end up down the road, then at white hart lane.

Imagine CM consisting of Modders, Diarra, Sandro, Thud & Parker!! Quality choices for every game...

Wenger admitting he made a mistake selling him? Unlikely.

I think this is the summer when Wenger will swallow one or two of his stuborn traits.

Samba, over 30 will sign
Back for a former player, Diarra
Attempt to sign an english player, Cahill
and
Might tell his team to shoot outside the 6 yard box

Don't think it was a mistake. Don't think he'd be able to keep his place in the Arsenal team for more than one season if he went back there. Then it would be time for him to move on again.
