Re Carroll- if he goes to gain more minutes then the best of luck to him as we've accepted a bid he isn't going to get alot with us this season

jasper: Carroll is making his mind up about 'should I stay or should I go' with accepted offer on table. Don't ask as club will not be revealed.

Hes got to believe Bentaleb, Mason, Alli and Dembele are all ahead of him.

Then probably knows we are still after another midfielder - who would then be ahead of him too.

So playing time might be limited dependent on injuries. So much will depend on promises of other club, their standing and how much he really wants and believes he can make it at Spurs.

According to Brad if you show the effort and ability the door is always open - so does he believe in himself?

With Carroll on the way out too we really must be sitting on a mountain of cash to spend on fees and wages.

Got to be some incomings soon

Carroll's got to go and build a career somewhere. The way our manager wants to play doesn't really suit his style, there no point him hanging on IMO.

under normal circumstances of course he wont. but gotze gone, lewandowski gone, klopp gone, they are out of cl. if theres a perfect time to lodge a bid this is by far their most vulnerable period. on a logical stand point he will not consider us, but stranger things have happened and If we are going to break the bank i hope we make a 20m rising to 30m bid at least. look at soldado's transfer fee and ade wages. had we combined two purchase into one we could have gotten 1 bonafide world class quality player.

Let the dream go, he'll have better offers elsewhere should he become available.

im really happy with this season's outgoing. if ade cab fuck off and we have takers for townsend/lennon, finally the deadwood would be gone.

whoever we bring in after should always be bonafide first choice starter quality

That has to be up there with the Stambouli/PSG/Rabiot thing mentioned earlier.

7/10, would laugh at it again.

Don't think this has anything to do with in comings. We're just trying to slimline a bloated squad.

I'd completely forgotten that Carroll was still our player. Doubt he'll get a look in and if he's got any sense he'll accept the offer.

If he goes, I hope it's with a buyback clause. I think he'll go on to be a good Prem player, and we'll need a player like him when Poch either goes or finally decides to branch out from his one system, as one of these outcomes is inevitable. We've been desperate for a playmaker since Modric left and have a homegrown lad who showed good promise in a Prem loan this last term, so it'd be a shame to see us split ways, but I can certainly understand from his standpoint should he choose to leave.
