For the record, it would be far more than 20m if Gibson got what he wanted and all add ons were met."2.5m (apart) might suggest we’re not super keen? Defo feels a punt."

Not so much that just Gibson playing hardball and wanting 20m…
At what point are we going to properly walk away? It feels like this is holding up everything else. Admittedly there is time but surely if we are still getting a CB (possibly AM too) it would make sense they are training as soon as they can with the squad. This feels especially important with defensive players. For the record, it would be far more than 20m if Gibson got what he wanted and all add ons were met.
We've made 5 signings, it doesn't feel like it's holding anything up. Maybe just one other position where we need to determine whether we need a homegrown option. I'm sure that's saved for attacking midfield though and not a position that needs to happen straight away.At what point are we going to properly walk away? Trix has explained in the Spence thread a few days ago how this deal going ahead or not influences other deals we might do.We've made 5 signings, it doesn't feel like it's holding anything up. Presumably influences which RWB we sign but can't imagine it affecting other business.Trix has explained in the Spence thread a few days ago how this deal going ahead or not influences other deals we might do.
Edit: I was going to link to it, but you can wade through the pages of puns and complaints about puns yourselves. It’s Sunday - you’ve nothing better to do.
I think it was along the lines of if we don’t sign a homegrown RWB then we would possibly have to try and sign a homegrown player to fill one of the other positions we’d like to recruit.Presumably influences which RWB we sign but can't imagine it affecting other business.
Then you need to imagine more. Or find Trix’s explanation. You know, whichever you prefer.Presumably influences which RWB we sign but can't imagine it affecting other business.
I’m all good with the five signings. But it does seem like it is holding up a CB and possibly an AM. Because we can’t make decisions on the HG front and getting preferred players in. It’s been mentioned a couple of times by ITKs about this and it seems logical as impacts available budgets for others. So ideally there does need to be a cut off point esp if our other preferred players start getting courted by other teams. If for instance the spence thing falls through or drags on we could be left with less than ideal optionsWe've made 5 signings, it doesn't feel like it's holding anything up. The priority is a Right wing back and so until we know what that player is going to cost the club cannot commit to purchase of any other players. There is a direct financial link between the right wing back and any other incomings - impoIt does affect other positions, we need one homegrown player in.
I’m surprised we haven’t moved on from spence and Gibson. When is the deadline do we think?I’m all good with the five signings. But it does seem like it is holding up a CB and possibly an AM. Because of the “Home Grown” need.We have weeks to decide on a Spence deal, still have two players for that position who are out with the squad on tour. We have made five signings (I think as many outgoings) so just how is the Spence transfer possibly "holding up everything else"?
There are and it's been pointed out multiple times. Not only Spence but the home grown thing too. TBH it's getting beyond a joke now, we do try very hard not to get heavy handed or dish out bans like confetti but that's starting to look more and more like how it's going to end so if anyone finds themselves on the outside looking in don't have the front to complain about it.I'm sure there are better threads to use for Spence
This is the most tolerant I've ever seen you of the bufoonery in this thread. Is everything OK? I'm starting to worry about you fella. ?There are and it's been pointed out multiple times. The post was moved to the Spence thread. It’s the place where all the cool kids hang out (yes I know that reference to “cool kids” eliminated me from qualifying for that group)I'm sorry what are you on about?
