I've always liked the look of him to be honest, but then Spence looked a real player at Forest too.

Feels like the kind of young player Ange could really coach up, plus is homegrown.

Would feel a bit uninspiring granted. Would rather chuck more money at Palace for Eze if homegrown was key.

If we could shift 2 players we need shifting and get the price down to no more than £20m (Depending on the players we send the other way) Then it's more palatable.

I don't really think he's worth more than £25m outright in all honesty.
To shift deadwood and physically pay 15-20M I’m all in

Yeah if we manage a swap deal plus cash that off loads possibly two unwanted players then this could be a great deal for us if it's the right price. I can see why we would be all over it.

I’m not particularly sold on him as a CF backup, Orban’s instinctive finishing is more appealing (yes I know there’s a disparity in the league standards, but I’m just looking at ability to hit/place shots with power and pace).
But if Johnson is seen as someone to challenge for the wider attacking role with his pace, and importantly if that sort of part ex deal could be done with less of a cash outlay, then it’s a fair bit more palatable. Hopefully leave some funds to strengthen elsewhere. Ultimately, the line being rolled out in the media is that Ange and Gabbianini are working very very well together, and if Johnson is someone they agree can bring something to our squad, got to get onboard with that.

I've watched Brennan quite a bit for Wales and I think some of you guys are going to be pleasantly surprised. His pace and movement are His main strengths, and will be where he excels - I'd say he'd play the Jota roll in Anges team (not as skillful, but quicker).
Could play the Central striker role at a push but from my watching of him with Wales I don't think he has the intelligence to be great there (ok, I get international footy is different to premier).

If the deal is something like Spence, A.N Other and 20m I'd happily take him

Agree, would much prefer Orban.

Almost like replacing berbatov & Keane with Frazier fucking Campbell 😂.

kane to Johnson 😫
It’s nothing like that. Campbell was a United youth player who’d hardly played any senior football. Johnson is a full Welsh international that we’ve been tracking for about two years.

I get that people might not rate him, I’m not 100% convinced myself. But there’s no need to blow this up into something it isn’t.

But it wouldn’t be ‘big money’ mate it would be £15-20mil and shift 1-2 deadwood which we otherwise would struggle to shift, win/win.
If this is how it plays out, I'll be fine with it. I do not personally rate Johnson but Ange deserves the backing of the club. If he wants Johnson, so be it.

What would be unacceptable is if Johnson represented such an outlay that we couldn't invest significantly at other positions. If we're getting him for £15-20m in part exchange with deadwood we can't otherwise shift, it becomes a lot more palatable.

Whilst Johnson might be 5x the player Campbell was, Kane’s 5x the player Berbatov was. The drop off feels the equivalent

About Johnson - OK if AP wants him.
If the club see a bargain special NO wAY. We've had too many over the years come back to bite us
