If this is how it plays out, I'll be fine with it. I do not personally rate Johnson but Ange deserves the backing of the club. If he wants Johnson, so be it.

What would be unacceptable is if Johnson represented such an outlay that we couldn't invest significantly at other positions. If we're getting him for £15-20m in part exchange with deadwood we can't otherwise shift, it becomes a lot more palatable.

I just don’t see us bringing in another attacker if we get him. I think considering we are struggling to shift players added to Johnson’s versatility of playing CF and RWF that he will be our only addition to the front line. Especially if we end up buying outright rather then getting a partial trade.

Whilst Johnson might be 5x the player Campbell was, Kane’s 5x the player Berbatov was. The drop off feels the equivalent

With the ITK if we could shift 2 players to Forrest and get Johnson and pay a lower fee, it's surely win win if Ange wants him?

We need to get 6 out, so getting 2 out the door to help with a part exchange for a player Ange wants is pretty self explanatory.

makes me laugh all the disagrees i get on this because I replied to a message about laying out big money on him, if we can get him for 15/20m then maybe he’d be worth a punt (notice the original poster didn’t get many disagrees) I’m assuming cos he’s staff. The pile ons from the usual suspects baffle me sometimes.

Looks like we will definitely be getting some outs. Let's hope it's enough and with enough time to get the in's. Tbh at this stage I'd just take the outs as it gives us a better chance in future windows. Anything else would be a welcome bonus.

Never heard of him mate but I’m sure someone has been watching him closely since he was in the Spanish or Portuguese youth setups and will make me feel like I can’t go on without him in the team

Starting to wonder how much not having a DOF has impacted our outgoings this summer.

Totally agree with Trix, RE; outs. If we ended the summer TW free of three or four dead weight contracts, it sets us up nicely for Jan and next summer. Gotta think long term. Hence why i facetiously said yesterday we should have a reverse Stoof stamp for taking out the trash… as it’s worth celebrating!!
