There's also no benefit to the club to just cut bait on 6-7 players right now just because. It's frustrating as hell but I see why, I deal with troubled assets. You don't write them off until you HAVE to write them off and right now we don't have to. Next week though? Absolutely.
Whilst I agree I think the fear is we'll have to do 8-9 of these kind of deals on deadline day and we understandably won't have the resource/staffing/organisation/co-ordination to cope whilst bringing the 3 players we need in. I bet Levy will want to know how much we're getting from transfer and loan fees before he pulls the trigger on some targets and so we'll inevitably hit problems. Then there is also the risk of moves breaking down both for incomings and outgoings with no time to revive them or explore alternative options.

I am not sure there will ever be a club that trades so many players in one day. We need to get some of it done this week no doubt.

OK, how seriously are they actually trying to sign PEH? Have they made a proper bid? Last things I remember reading on it, they too needed to sell before buying, and hadn't got people out yet.
Could it be that every club is in this situation? Everyone is waiting for everyone else to sell someone but no one can sell because no one is buying because they need to sell first.

There's no club like Spurs so comfortable with writing off entire seasons. From chairman to fans, hiring caretakers for the majority of a season, to treating the competition we exist to compete in like a training exercise for a year.

I can only hope and assume Ange himself wouldn't accept it.
Remember when we hired Nuno and everyone was saying he'd be the caretaker for a year. Ridiculous notion.

As for the itk, I just can't see incomings beyond maybe 1 in, either/or at CB or up front but not both.

Only Spurs could simultaneously have a massively over-bloated squad whilst also lacking strength in depth.
Just goes to show what poor recruitment mainly under Hitchin I think and complete lack of squad management when numbers should have been kept to a reasonable level. The constant kicking of the can down the road and loaning the dross instead of selling because the thought that their value was substantially higher than what people prepared to pay has caused this bottleneck of being unable to offload them. Hopefully reality has hit them and the need to bite the bullet and do whatever is necessary to clear the decks.

Outgoings will happen a lot of it will be next week but 3 are edging closer to the exit hopefully before the end of the weekend .
We have deals lined up when we move out the unwanted . We want 3 players still.
I have an image of Ange standing there with a pointy stick giving little jabs to Tanguy, Japhet, Djed and Co.

Just a few more pokes and they'll be off our land and therefore not our problem anymore.

I think people really underestimate the importance of wage differences and how this makes it difficult to move players on.

Lloris must be one of the 20 best paid goalkeepers in the world. There’s no way Lazio are going to match that (for a player who wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter), so it forces players to have to choose between moving and playing and a lot of money.

Ndombele clearly has enough talent that a team would take a punt on a cheap transfer. But his wages are so high that he would become by far the highest paid player in all but a handful of teams. And that won’t be worth the risk for most clubs.

If a player still has value on the books, ie, his transfer fee hasn't been amortised over the length of his contract then that value has to be replaced.
So, if Ndombele has a year left of his 5 year deal and we bought him for £60 million there will be a £12 million loss which is not allowed in accountancy terms so we would have to sell him for this.

I believe players such as Lloris, Dier, Tanganga have no value so would not need a fee to cover their value.

In the past I've had to mothball £100,000's of Capex equipment in offsite storage for years because of this.
Sorry but this is completely untrue, and would be absolutely insane in football or any other business. You have to recognise the loss, there is nothing to stop you selling whatever you want at whatever price you like. In fact the opposite is true as you can use the loss to reduce your tax bill, so actually the tax code (quite rightly) tries to help businesses recover from these kind of mistakes

Thanks for sharing Trix and yep its just how much we can do in the remaining time.

Lets see how it plays out but I'm no where near as worried as in previous seasons as we now have a Manager who is strongminded and knows exactly what he wants so will put just the right amount of pressure on Levy however Ange also is ready to be flexible and still work to achieve something no matter the outcome, he literally said as much in his last press conference. Ange also said he hopes that we will have got the majority of what we wanted to do done. Its the first transfer window as part of a 4 year project, I'm hopeful we will get a good 3-4 out before the end of the window and bring in 1-2 more, if we manage to do that I think that will be good enough until the January window especially considering we have no European football this season.
The issue is we are left hoping for a bad outcome. We’re now ‘hoping’ for 3-4 out, when we needed 9-10 and have shifted 2 (not including Kane but including Rodon) of our deadwood. IF we get rid of 3-4 we will still be paying numerous players we aren’t even allowed to play

Need more than 3 out mate, and you don't need ITK to work that out. Squad size is way over what we need.
Is it not a possibility that we mutually agree to terminate contracts straight after window closes for those we cant shift?

Not sure your post is on topic either…

I made it clear why the finance stuff was allowed until we had player ITK and most people followed that fine.
And I was saying it in jest for this reason… apologies, I should’ve added an emoji to make it obvious! My ‘humour’ can often go under the radar…

Depends what you mean by mutually agree. If you mean we buy out the contract sure, why wouldn’t a player agree it that if they aren’t registered so can’t play anyway. But if you mean player agrees to stop being paid they will only do this is they can make up the wages elsewhere (unlikely) and/or are desperate enough to play to leave money on the table (can you see Tanguy doing this?????)

They won’t be available to sign for any other club if their contract is ended after the window closes. It has to be before.

If staff are not doing a job to satisfy our needs then surely they need to go?
I realise football is full of very rich *staff but if they are not doing a job for us anymore they are not worth their salary now.
Are we now a care agency too?
Just exasperated with goalposts seemingly being moved and apologies to all our ITKs who try to keep us in the link but without our support, the players who are being overpaid, can’t be bothered to turn up for training on time, just past their prime, or employed in the wrong positions are just beyond our help?
The info we get is propelling the discontent and our great club and new manager deserve better than this.
😢

*NOT itk info btw!!!
