Clauses like this shouldnt exist. Literally just shows you have no respect for who you're about to sign for.
Nah it shows you’ve done due diligence and you know exactly who you’re signing for. We all moan constantly about Levy both not signing players to push on when we’re on the cusp of success and also not allowing players to leave for reasonable prices to clear the decks. As an incoming ambitious player who wants to succeed why wouldn’t you be wary of that. You might have every intention of staying and being successful but you’d also want some insurance just incase it doesn’t pan out,

Levy will know the quickest way to get the fans to forget about Kane leaving is to get some shiny new signings through the door. Hopefully we see some movement early next week. Orban would be a great start.

While we've maintained interest in this player before, an opportunity has emerged for us. We've been offered the chance to sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax, a versatile player who can contribute effectively in the midfield and forward positions. This potential addition could bring a new dimension to our forward line.

Good player.

but another ‘opportunistic’ signing.

Where’s the planning?

Here's another update for you, though it's not quite time to get too excited just yet. We recently inquired about a double deal involving two players from Juventus. Unfortunately, our initial approach was rejected. However, it's worth noting that Juventus seems to be in a financially vulnerable position at the moment, and we have the resources available to make things happen if we choose to pursue it. So, while the opportunity might be on hold for now, the potential is still there. I’ll let you guess who though 😙

That’s me done

I don't think we should be wasting time on something that may or may not happen. We need to be decisive and certainly get 2 players in by the Man U game if possible otherwise we are gonna be competing for scraps on deadline day. I would imagine that the players are 2 from 3 of Vlahovic, Bremer and Chiesa but Chiesa has already turned Newcastle down saying if he came to England it would only be to Liverpool.

WLB says it's an opportunity based on previous interest, that indicates some planning. Not all signings are going to be us identifying the exact player and putting resources to get him. It looks like we're trying a more data led approach to signings so if he fills one of the gaps we have them sounds good to me.

Yep...no surprise we have been linked to Orban and Kudus, two players Brighton who also heavily use data analysis when targeting players, have been linked to as well.

Is the player asking for the same clause from us, or was it just in there for Brighton who are a traditionally smaller club who have never qualified for the CL? I wouldn't accept the clause for next season, but if we haven't qualified within the next two seasons with the additional place available then I can see why an ambitious player might want to leave.

Is it any worse than having a player on loan without any guaranteed right to buy at the end? Especially if we would get back any transfer fee (and some) so no financial risk

Of course we want fully committed players on king contracts but sometimes you have to be adaptive and do what’s best in the very short term

Yeah I mean it’s easy to see why a player would want such a clause, but it’s also obvious that the precedent would be terrible, every player would want to negotiate this if possible and it’s much easier to just reject release clauses as a policy than to individually consider them for every signing and contract renewal. Plenty of other creative ways we can incentivize a player.
If we know anything about Levy it's that he won't accept that clause. If that can we worked out, could be an exciting signing for a player who fits the profile we're looking for for this system

That’s a good point. I Suppose the amount of the release clause being asked for could be relevant.

Does anyone follow Eric Dier on twitter or other social media? If so can you check if he has stopped following Spurs?
