Labuschagne has the most Australian face ever.
Did we assume the non-ability to get Smith out when they replaced him like-for-like

Ha! I was thinking the same thing.

I was also thinking that he is exactly the type of batsmen we are lacking. Proper defence, good technique, knows where his off stump is and can put away the bad ball.

Just an old fashioned test batsmen, the sort we had before we put all our efforts and thinking into one day cricket.

Funny how things work out, because when/if Smith comes back they will actually end up having a stronger batting line up if this guy plays as well.

Turns out he's South African, they must teach that sorry-eyed Ricky Ponting look in schools down there :ROFLMAO:

Labs came to Australia when he was 10 and was raised in Queensland, I guess he wanted to escape being drafted into the Rest of the World team.

Credit where its due, the Rest of the World team did bowl and catch well in our first innings although we did show a bit of fight, the rest of our batsmen capitulated.

I think the Matthew Wade experiment is over.

Weird day yesterday, not often a team bowled out for under 200 was winning. Really disappointed with Woakes n Stokes, they were way off the mark. Broad n Archer complimented each other beautifully. gotta bat for the best part of 2 days now then its game on

Anderson would have had a field day on that pitch and those conditions.

Roy and Root to go big here today.

By big, I mean score a two digit figure today.

I almost want to fast-forward to the lunch break, as we'll know a bit more about the match/pitch then. You can never tell how good a score is until both teams have batted. I can't see us making anymore than 250-280, but that kind of lead will be massive.

Crucial first session. It wouldn't surprise me if the Aussies already have a match winning lead.

Its left to the middle/lower order again...………..
When our openers walk out our batsmen down to at least 5 must be all padded up and ready!.
Its clear as day that Roy is not a test opener and needs to be dropped down to the middle order for the second innings.
Roots needs to take a rest from the captaincy before someone rests him.
