So I guess people are still reading twitter and telling themselves "yeah, this isn't complete bullshit."

How we got to the top of the food chain is beyond me, as there are single celled organisms with more sense

It's not twitter that is BS, it's the one tweeting the info. There are certain tweeters I trust with news and others not so much. Di Marzio for example is trustworthy IMO. Mostly it is just resharing information on there for the most part anyway.

A mere handful are reliable the rest is just recycled news from elsewhere, made up, lies, WUMs, or guesswork. The accuracy rate on twitter is appalling

What's their to play hard ball over? 2 million is the fee, either he pays it, or we pay it.

Hardly think Southampton are just going to say, yeah no problem lol

Sjy Italia

Cheers for posting though mate :)

Is this the first time you've heard of Daniel Levy? :)

Should we start a twitter campaign to let the club know who we think we should get? Of the names being mentioned I would opt for de Boer. Pochettino is too much of a gamble I think.

#getFDB to the official site?

I'd like to preface this with a couple of riders: I haven't seen any of Ajax under FdB so I cannot fully get behind the wave of support he has received amongst our fan base and, therefore, I am basing these thoughts on the information/informed opinion of some posters who say that FdB and AVB share more than being referred to by their initials.
The point I'd like to make, and apologies if it has been made before (this thread has grown so long that I may have skipped a post or two), is that if FdB employs similar formations, tactics and possession-based football to that of AVB then surely he is the wise appointment. Personally, I don't want to return to the, at times, sterile, football that we played under AVB. Waiting for the opposition to die of boredom is not my idea of a philosophy and not one synonymous with our club. However, our purchasing strategy (and on this I am taking a leap of faith) has been to identify and acquire players that can play in a 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1/4-5-1) formation and who are comfortable in possession, building from the back. Our goalkeeper, should we keep him, is regarded as the best sweeper-keeper in the game which would suit the proposed highline and, whilst we may need investment in our backline, we have the players capable of applying this possession-based football and developing attacks from defence. If we could move the ball a little quicker and vary our build up – a development on AVB’s days – then we see this idea implemented successfully.
In short, everything is in place (apart from a few tweaks). FdB should be able to walk through the door and build on what AVB left behind. This should aid transition and could, perhaps, help us to avoid another transitional season. I accept those that have misgivings about FdB and I am not advocating him to be the best man. It is just a lazy thought that crossed my mind at closing time and that has stayed with me until now.
Of course, if FdB is nothing like AVB in his style then I have wasted my and your time and I apologise...

No more paper tactics or pretty philosophies. I'm sure even Fat Sam could write a piece of prose on his football philosophy that would have us all cumming in our pants.

I need someone who is a fairly ardent watcher of Ajax to enlighten me on the way Ajax plays, are they really as turgid as we were under AVB? The only info I have on the matter is from my man flashspur, who seems a fairly level headed analytical fellow, and he isn't impressed. Bore them to death football, which I can't have anymore.

Philosophies in football must only be ascertained by the way your team plays.

...this is an interesting article and may have been posted previously on Frank de Bore....sorry ;)

Look, i have watched a lot of Ajax over the last two seasons and a bit and unless he has a major change of heart when he comes here, we'll be watching a team managed by AVB's older brother - lots of possession and not a lot of goals.

Its effective mind you, anyone who can get his team to average 60% possession will control a game but its not going to get you lot creaming your jocks. On the other hand, Bielsa's little buddy probably will.

I have to admit, I am warming to Pooch, but then I like FDB and philosophy with youth.

I read something about pooch and think yeah I like that, then I read something FDB and I think yeah.

I don't know who I want any more.

But I was thinking last night about Lamela, and thinking Pooch, and thinking Lamela will get a damn good chance. Then I thought about Verts and Eriksen and then thought FDB..

Then my head just imploded and I dribbled like homer on doughnut feeding frenzy.

I don't know any more, I honestly just don't know.

Also posted in Pooch thread for balance :)

Well we seem to be in a fairly decent position where the the three mooted candidates all are good managers and it comes down to who we as a club prefer.
