It looks as if Grant Ward (being no. 4) was played as DM vs Fulham (in the recent U 21 game). I have not seen him play, so what do any of you "fanatics" ( ) who's seen him (100s of times most probably) think of him?

Well since his return he has always been playing DM at u21s. I always knew him as a utility man and didn't think much of him as I hadn't seen him much and hadnt heard great news. He went MLS and did decently since coming back he has really caught the eye. He is a different style DM to Veljkovic and more a harrying type. Has good footballing ability. After seeing him play at u21s it's no surprise to hear he has been one of the best players at Coventry. May be a dark horse but again we have so many central midfielders. However if MV finds his future at CB Ward could come in and do a job at DM in the future as we don't have many high quality ones aftere MV apart from Amos though I do like Owens. After that the next may be Marsh or Skipp as a DM type but that is so far away no point really considering. So he has a chance

My mate sent me an email. Seems his nephew played in the u18's 3-0 loss to west brom.
Zenon Stylianides (sp). Is he any good (english with greek/cypriot heritage).

he seems decent enough, difficult to say whether he's any more than that at this stage. as you can see above he's a regular at u18 level.

Loftus-Cheek starting for Chelsea. I wish Poch would decide to give one of our youths a go already. But that seems too optimistic for our so called champion of the youth.

Chelsea literally have nothing to play for. Whilst I am disappointed about Poch lack of you involvement, I don't think the situation is a good one for supporting criticism

Like we have had anything to play for. It's not as if our current team are pulling up trees.
If they can't be arsed put in someone that can. I doubt our under 7 team would have lost 3-0 to stoke.

Oh wow, Mourinho is starting a youngster AFTER they won the league.
Well we've had nothing to play for the past 2 months and Poch refuses to play the youth, sooooooo. And our current team has continued to play like complete shit during that time too.

We still have Europa League to play for, so the ideology of 'nothing' isn't exactly true. Which youngsters to you, are ready for the Premier League?

Also it is different bringing in a youngster whilst playing with the likes of Hazard, Willian, Fabregas and the almost, impenetrable Chelsea defence.

Throwing in a youngster who had never played in EPL in a team that's playing like utter dog shit, whilst would be nice to see, could honestly damage their progression if we continued to play shit. And again the past 2 months there was possibility of Top 4 and recently there is now a possibility of coming 7th which is disgusting and something we should be playing to avoid.

I quite like him, gangly type (not in a bad way) of busy **** who has tenacity but can also play a bit.

Like we've had anything to play for for the last month. And he could have at least had a couple on the bench, including McGee instead of Fatty Friedel. It's not like some of them haven't deserved or needed a rest either.

I couldn't disagree more. A youngster is even less likely to get a chance when everyone's playing well or when there's a huge deal riding on it.

Just by being a youngster, making his debut and trying real hard he's immediately going to have the crowd on his side.

Yea but Mourinho has consistently found room for his youth players on the bench and even had Brown come on in a game when they were fighting for a title

Poch hasn't found room for Onomah despite out of favour players making it and worth noting onomah would actually add something we lack atm

Disagree. Rather a youngster come in when team is playing very well and has more protection. When team playing terrible, I think it's a bad time to start handing out debuts unless very desperate and it shows that manager can't actually manage his first team players.
