Couldn't find a thread on him although i'm not massively surprised.
However, there is no doubt he has been a good servant for the club if not frustrating at times. True, he has symbolised the 'tottenham of old' image which we have been trying for a few years to shake but nevertheless, the man has made 176 appearances in all competitions and scored 26 goals (a few of which were against the scum). I for one won't forget his memorable contributions in the League cup winning campaign where he scored in both legs against the scum and also sent over the ball that Woodgate faced in for the winner. He was a very good player for us in the 2005-2006 season playing either on the right or more centrally with carrick and the two of them made a solid pairing. We failed to see the best of him after Carrick left and with the better additions that followed coupled with some bad injuries, he was always on the fringes thereafter.
But regardless, he was better than Michael Brown and Andy Sinton and all the other dross I had to watch as a kid and so I thank him for the early years, as I feel he is another one of those faces that has helped to bridge the gap between old (shit) and new (good). So I call on you fellow SC'ers to put aside your feelings and join me in thanking Jenas for his contributions.
JERMAINE JENAS! THANK YOU!
Oh, and he also only cost £7m when we bought him, hardly a massive waste of money even by standards of 8 years ago.
