Yep, I would go with that....still a pretty decent wee team there...

I'd start Defoe, tonight was his first start since coming back from injury. Let him score a couple then take him off after an hour.

Cudicini
Corluka Dawson Bassong Rose
Falque Livermore Carroll Pienaar
Kranjcar
Defoe

Or

Cudicini
Corluka Dawson Bassong Rose
Pienaar Livermore Carroll Kranjcar
Pavlyuchenko Defoe

No idea about Lennon. Is hard because we don't know his current fitness level and whether the staff will think he needs a game under his belt or if we need to be cautious and just get him on for the last 25/30 minutes or summin'.

I think that after tonight, everyone would agree rest for the core first team players is definitely required. This team is probably the most experienced we could field :

Cudicini
Corluka Dawson Bassong Rose
Lennon Livermore Carroll Kranjcar
Falque
Pavlyuchenko

However there are quite a few variants to involve more youth (and less other first team players) who should be good enough :

1 Corluka has not been seen for some time - we could replace him with Fredericks (but he may be injured), or Stewart or Barthram (latter two play in Next Gen squad and on bench for 2 Europa League matches)

2 At CB, we could play Nicholson (Holding mid, has played CB in Next Gen) and/or Stewart.....or Livermore if he doesn't need a rest. There is also Veljkovic who played in several pre-season Spurs X1 games at this level (and NextGen games) but I am unsure if we can play the 16 year old.

3 At right wing we could save Lennon for Everton and play Fredericks or even Parrett (remember him !) as right mid

4 In centre midfield, we could play Luongo (forgettable debut at Stoke, has excelled in NextGen and Spurs X1) or Parrett or even Bostock.

5 At left midfield, Pritchard (excelled in NextGen matches) could play if Krancjar doesn't need a game.

6 Up front, I'd like to see Falque as second striker, but there is also Ceballos (but imo he is less advanced than the other NextGen players mentioned here).....and even Dos Santos

7 Up front Pav should be the man, but Dawkins (back from MLS) and Oyenuga are available - maybe as subs. I would resist the calls for Coulibally until next season - those who have seen him agree he is a little raw.

This but with Lennon and Kranjcar on opposite sides and Gomes in goal (to give him, along with Pav, a fitting WHL send off)

Any news on when the Hudd will be back? I wonder if he's still refusing to shave untill he scores a goal. We could certainly use him at the moment.
