It's funny how many people a few weeks ago had Sandro/Capoue, Paulinho and Dembele as their first choice midfield.
Not really. Dembele is just not at it at the moment. It probably is our best midfield once dembele gets back to his best. Holtby deserves a chance though, if he doesn't take it then bring moussa back in.

Lets just lump Lamela, Erikson AND holtby on. No creativity to ultra creativty :ROFLMAO:
Yep. Sounds good doesn't it? Holtby is sturdy though. And we are talking Norwich here, I probably wouldn't go with that vs Chelsea for example.

Dembele would still be in my midfield if we reverted to a 4-3-3 but he doesn't look fit.

-------------------Lloris------------------
Naughton---Kaboul----Vertonghen-Rose-
-----------Paulinho----Sandro-----------
--Lamela--------Eriksen---------Townsend-
------------------Soldado------------------

subs: Gomes, Chiriches, Walker, Lennon, Dembele, Chadli, Adebayor.

P.S In the long run i think we could probably get the best out of Adebayor by playing him in the LWF position occasionally as he has always seemed to drift out wide and he actually does have a good record of assisting players (i am nowhere near his biggest fan too)

Naughton i feel deserves a chance at his preferred RB position Kyle Walker has not been great tbh for over a year now and i feel he needs genuine competition to give him a kick up the backside also he seemed to link up a lot better with Townsend than Walker does & i feel the same will happen with Lamela.

Why has all of sudden Lennon dissappeared from most starting squads?

His pace is crucial in how we are going to play especially from away from homes and i know everyone is excited about Townsend at the moment but Lennon is still the better option. He know his position, him and Walker link up quite well. Him and Lamela can interchange on different flanks and he is going to cover the full back.

I also believe AVB still rates him highly and will have him in most start 11's.

They do, but recently there was no fluidity - it looked like Lennon had gone back to the stage where he was afraid to take on a man unless it was in the final third. Townsend and Walker already have a good understanding and seem to be more direct/positive as a pairing than Lennon and Walker have been.

Holtby wasn't fit, Dembele hasn't found form yet, I'd argue Paulinho is still finding his feet. He is definitely not struggling, but think he could be eased in. Makes the right decisions for me, but he is being played quite deep, as our midfield 3 have been so far, which I think is part of the problem with the lack of chances being created.

We have done good business, Bale has gone and we have had a high turnover. If I was AvB I would be patient and blend the newcomers in slowly. Dembele has lost his way but I don't think its entirely his fault. The team I would like to see is as follows.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Dembele
Townsend Holtby Chadli
Soldado
Bench: Friedel, Chirches, Paulinho, Eriksen, Defoe, Lamela, Adebayor

I gone with the tried and trusted midfield duo of Sandro and Dembele who before Sandro's injury were the best midfield in the prem. Ade on the bench because we need the plan b when the opposition drops deep. I think Holtby has earned and deserves his chance, he has a goalscoring threat.

Patience is the key, that's why I would like to see the newcomers on the bench.

Norwich at home should be a good game to test the noobs. Also they're going to make it tough for us to break them down so we'll need to put out as creative a squad as possible.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Rose
Sandro Paulinho
Lamela Holtby Eriksen
Soldado
If Kaboul, Sandro and Holtby aren't fully fit yet then it'll be Dawson, Dembele and Townsend respectively, with Eriksen going into the middle and Townsend left. Don't think we can afford to take a defensive gamble by starting Chiriches yet, he's less developed than the other new boys.

I think this Norwich team will be more inclined to come out and play a bit. They're not the team they were in the past and that will benefit us as they're a bit of a bogey side for us. 2 draws and a defeat against them last time, a defeat at home the season before.

That's a fair point, he's brought in a good few attacking players. Been impressed with their business this window.

They've been playing 4-2-3-1 in all games this season by the looks of things, Fer will be a key player for them and so far CH has deployed him in the defensive 2 and in the middle of the attacking 3. We will also have to watch out for Redmond who is rapid, Walker will need to be on his game.

We also won't want to give too many chances to RVW as he's likely to put them away.

If we can keep Fer, RVW, and Redmond quiet we should win.

Id go for:

Lloris
Walker - Kaboul - Vertonghen - Rose
Sandro - Paulinho
Lamela - Eriksen - Lennon
Soldado
Subs - Friedel, Dawson, Chiriches, Dembele, Holtby, Townsend, Defoe.
If fit I would have Lennon on the left wing, with the creativity in the middle from Eriksen & the movement from Soldado I think that there would be a lot of space for little Azza!
