They are very beatable. Villa are just shocking and have basically given them 3 goals on the break. I can see it being quite a nervy one as both teams prefer to counter.

Difficult to pick the team but it would be nice to have bentaleb back. If he is I'd go with Mason, bentaleb and Dembele centrally behind kane eriksen and Chadli.
Walker and rose at fullback with verts and dier. That is about as strong as we have although you could make an argument for Fazio over died and lamela for Dembele.

Kane will be well up for this and he will give their centre backs a real working over. Can't bloody wait.

All I can say is there will be goals. Fortunately/unfortunately I'm going to be working so won't be able to actually watch the game.

Absolutely massive, pivotal game in our season. If they win, they go 5 points ahead, have momentum and the confidence from that will easily take them into the top 4.

If we win then being above them again, with a cup final to come should hopefully kick us on but who knows, with mid season cup finals it can lead to a drop off, especially with so many games to be played.

I just hope we work all week on being as tight as possible. Both defences are there to be got at (especially ours) and with the goals they have in their team from their front 5/6 we will have to negate that threat.

Personally I can see this easily ending up 4-4. There will be goals that's for sure

I know Vlad gives you a heart attack, but this is a game I'd really consider him for.

I don't mind if they're overconfident going into the match as they'll be less prepared for the shock and awe of the Kane train.

Hugo; Walker, Fazio, Jan, Danny; Mason, Stambouli; Eriksen, Mousa, Chadli; Kane.

Vorm, Dier, Davies, Paulinho, Lamela, Townsend, Soldado.

I've really liked Mousa in the #10-role, Chadli offers a goalthreat and quite solid defensively. I'm a big Lamela fan but he will have to start this one on the bench. Otherwise no biggies, Danny has been really good and has the speed.
Eriksen and Chadli are ineffective on the right IMO.

Kane will be so pumped for this to...and a clear week for him so he'll be well rested.

If Algeria are knocked out tonight I'd but Nabil back in beside Mason, and keep Dembele in the ten spot.

I really do think we could out battle them.

The Eriksen free kick has become such a huge part of our attacking threat to the extent that teams don’t want to dive into tackles anywhere in the final third. This gives that little bit more space to pacy runners (Townsend) and dribblers (Dembele) in attacking positions. We need to take advantage. I say we stick with Dembele behind Kane, and at a pinch, go with Townsend instead of Lamela or Chads just for this game, although Chads would be fine. Mids - Mason and Bentaleb if available; Stambouli if not. Pace with Walker and Rose on the defensive flanks, Verts and Faz in the middle….just wish we had a decent goalie!!! Both teams will be worried by counter attack threats, and I see the Arse sitting back and playing far more of a counter attacking game like they did against City. They played well in that one, but definitely got the breaks from the footballing gods that day. Our passing/pressing and confidence has come on in leaps and bounds. Close game, but I think we’ll get a result.

Agree about Dembele though I think Chadli is better at making runs across the back 4 than Lamela or Townsend so I would start him if he is fit enough to play.

Posted in the match thread, but I would try Chadli on the right for this one, due to the goal threat and balls into the box:

Lloris
Walker Fazio Verts Rose
Stambouli Mason
Chadli Dembele Eriksen
Kane
Subs: Vorm Dier Davies Townsend Lamela Soldado Paulinho
I'd love to see this team against the scum. Coco, given time, will be a massive asset but at the minute we need a bigger goal threat on the right. We need to somehow take the pressure off CE and Harry. For all the pace and power Dembele brings he just doesn't score enough goals. To make up for this I think we need Chadders to start. Coco can come on in latter stages needed.

Usually after a tournament player are given time off, I think it will be around a week

Totally agree. I think Lamela will develop and end up great, but Chadli is a genuine goal threat and we need arsenal on the back foot.

Really? Interesting. Where would you play him and why?

CB. I know its a risk but he could strengthen us defensively given the type of threat Arsenal offer. Slick passing a long the deck etc. He's agile, pretty quick and can read situations well. Just needs to improve his concentration and decision making at times.

Providing he isn't in calamity mode.

And I'm normally pretty critical of him by the way.

Guess it will depend if he takes the week. Based on what you hear of his personality - I think he would be bang up for this game and reluctant to miss it!

I can see the possible fear in playing Fazio due to him possibly being a bit cumbersome and therefore perhaps looking at a different option but if that were the case I'd 100% go with dier. Has played with Jan several times already and looked relatively solid. Good on the deck, good in the air and reads the game very well, add to this he's deceptively quick.

That said, Fazio will hopefully negate the threat of Giroud and seeing as they play a lot off him, this could be key in stopping Sanchez, Rosicky, Cazorla, Walcott etc being effective.

Lloris will stand up to them.
