Team News - Woodgate In Squad

Jonathan Woodgate goes straight into the squad for Wednesday night's trip to Everton in the Barclays Premier League.
It could be perfect timing as fellow central defender Michael Dawson misses out as he serves a one-match suspension following his red card for handball at Manchester United on Sunday.

Paul Stalteri is an injury doubt with a thigh problem and Darren Bent is still not quite ready for match action even though he’s back in training following a knee injury.

Didier Zokora is at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast while long-term injuries Gareth Bale (foot), Anthony Gardner (ankle) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) remain out.

Woodgate and King really does have the potential to be a phenomenal partnership.
2 graceful, precise centrebacks who good with the ball at their feet.
I definitely think we can win tomorrow night - we have won at Goodison more often than not in recent seasons.

Bent was good pre-season scoring 6 from 7 I think. He can definatly do a job for us and I'm sure he will do soon enough.

As for King being fit....thank f**k for that to be honest :grin: He and Woody might take some time to gell though so not expecting miracles against a stong Everton team. IF they can both stay fit however then we might be in business :bowdown:

im getting pretty nervous about wooders and leders together, im sure it will be amazing but now im getting worried that they are too alike and neither of them are the nasty bastard of the defensive player we need, that said i dont knwo all that much about woodgates game
