I'd like to see

Vicario

Porro (dragula) VDV Udogie

Bentancur LoCelso PEH

Kulu Richarlison Werner

Still a huge Maddison shaped hole in the side but needs some CM industry in the absence of AFcon players.

(Edit. dragula was actually a typo. I was chatting to a mate about a Rob Zombie song I like by that name yesterday. But I'll keep it! "Dig through the ditches and burn through the witches and ride in the back of my Dragulaaaa.....")

Vicario

Royal
Drags
VDV
Udogie

Bentancur
Hojbjerg (if Lo Celso not fit)
Kulu

Porro
Richarlison
Werner

I think this could work very well at Old Trafford. Get the new CB straight in there with VDV. Porro would love to play further forward and is more than capable. Royal has been defending well so keep him in at RB. That right hand side would be locked down tight with the two of them there. I rate Johnson but he has played a lot and having him on standby to come in for any of the front three depending on the circumstances would give him a rest and he can terrorise them later in the game as they tire. Pierre and Bents formed a good partnership before, maybe it can be rekindled.

The one big thing in our favour here is yanited's midfield. It's not the greatest or most well-oiled machine in the world.

---------------Vicario----------------
Porro---Dragusin-----van de Ven--Udogie
--------------Bentancur--------------
------Hojbjerg--------Kulusevski-------
-Johnson-----Richarlison------Werner--

Subs: Forster, Royal, Dorrington, Sessegnon, Skipp, Scarlett, Donley, John, Gil

Bench will look pretty shocking I guess.

Vicario
Porro
Emerson - just read Romero wants in, but I think he'll be bench at best
Dragusin/VDV - whoever starts will come off second half for the other I think
Udogie
Skipp
Bentancur
Kulusevski
Johnson
Richarlison
Werner

Bench will be whatever we can cobble together.

Sounds like Eriksen will be back after illness. He has looked knackered in last few games when I have seen him. He will prob be with the young lad Kobi Mainoo who has done well recently.
On paper our midfield should run all over them but things rarely go to plan. The big threat is Garnacho, currently playing on the right. Doggie will need to sort him.

According to H88 Maddison might make the UTD match and I'd love to see Werner down the middle instead of out wide, so I'd be up for starting with:
Vicario
Porro Dragusin VDV Udogie
Bentancur Hojbjerg Maddison
Kulusevski Werner Johnson

Yeah, I thought I read this morning that it was Romero pushing to be available for United. I think best case scenario for Maddison would be a bench spot.

I would not be shocked to see Romero or Royal starting this match. I think it could still be too soon for Dragusin - particularly picking up the patterns of play when playing out of the back - even more so if Skipp or Hojbjerg are involved in midfield.

(It would be fantastic if Maddison were available though...)

Fine.

Vicario; Porro, Drǎguşin, VDV, Udogie; PEH, Bentancur, Kulusevski; Johnson, Richarlison, Werner.

Romero makes the bench.

Has to be the obvious team right. With the players we have out & not playing it shows that we have one hell of a squad being put together.
Add the following to that 11:

Davies, Romero, Emerson, Sessegnon, Skipp, Lo Celso, Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison, Solomon & Son.
It all adds up to a really great position.

You missed Maddison and Soloman as well

If Romero is telling Ange he is fit for United, we should play him or we risk Romero taking Dragusin out in training.

hojbjerg over skipp if it comes down to it, skipp is just totally lost as an 8.

Other one offers more on the ball, other off the ball and is better defensively. Reckon only questions are Romero / Dragusin pending when we finalize the deal and how fit Romero is and wether we start Höjberg or Skipp.

Vic - Porro, Dragusin or Romero, Micky, Udogie - Bentancur, Skipp or Höjberg, Kulusevksi - Werner, Richarlison, Johnson

Bench: Forster, Romero or Dragusin, Dorrington, Royal, Sessegnon, Höjberg or Skipp, Donley, Gil, Scarlett

Interesting thought if Romeros fit, wonder if he plays one of the 3 in the Stones DM role rather than PEH or Skipp
