Looks like Dembele could miss this one, could be out for a week or two but is being assessed tomorrow. Big miss IMO as Everton are a pretty powerful side, certainly a game I didn't want him to miss.

I'd bring Mason back in and play him alongside DIer.

The other big call is between Son and Eriksen, I'd be tempted to give Son a go now after his goal today. Confidence will be up and he was looking good before his injury and he offers us good movement IMO.

Could play Dier and Alli in CM and both Son and Eriksen in the three behind Kane, but I just feel its a little lightweight - and bringing on one later if needs be is the way to go.

Giving players a little breather here and there is a good thing IMO as its a long season, so Eriksen returning to the side when we play Leicester etc.

If Dembele is injured, I'd put Carroll in for him. Alli needs to sit this one out, as his performances have tailed off a bit recently.

Carroll too lightweight especially up there. Alli will play.

Alli rather than Carroll for Dembele if he's injured and that's the team... (y)(y)

Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Bentaleb, Mason; Lamela, Son, Kane

Assuming Dembele is out. I think that midfield could really help us in attempting to control the match. Also offers some creativity and attacking intent with Mason. Paired with the directness of the attacking 3, I think it could be well rounded yet provide enough attacking impetus.

Did McCarthy go off injured today? If he misses that will be a good balance for us missing Dembele

I expect Alli to play, but think he'd benefit from a rest. His performances are heavily reliant upon his energy levels and he has played 27 games this season, with his only recent rest being when he was suspended.

We don't have adequate replacements for the other players who may be in need of a rest (Kane, Dier, Vertonghen, Alderweireld). Having played two matches in 48 hours, wouldn't it make sense to rotate players where we can?

If he had to be rested I would bring in Mason or Chadli for him.

A Dier, Bentaleb & Mason trio absolutely bossed them earlier in the season.

(I think we may even have had Dembele also in the team, really packed the middle of the park).

Yeah that;s a good point - Mason played most advanced and closest to Kane didn't he? Had a really good chance as well IIRC.

I'm sure Poch will be considering a similar approach.

You are possibly right I don't know. Strange how young Josh hasn't featured on the bench lately.

No sign of Harry Winks either. I know he was mostly an unused sub, but he was regularly amongst the subs earlier in the season.

Was Dembele playing on the right of the three behind Kane?

Seemed very fluid but yes Dembele nominally right with Mason playing just off Kane.

Despite the result only being a draw I still consider this one of our best performances of the season. From us it was what I would call 'measured control', rather than some of our other highlights of the season which are usually high energy and tempo games where teams just cant handle it and get blown away. The game was two decent footballing teams who were looking to play, but we bossed it and on any other day it would have been a very good 2 or 3-0 win.

Yes absolutely. I still think it was our best performance over 90 minutes, and its a game that a 2 nil score line would of fully merited.
