Romero and Reguilon went through him early on and he was quiet after that.
Yeah, I was coming in here to say that. Reguilon and Davies covered him off very well, plus he had the added bother of having to deal with Reguilon and Davies bombing forward down that side too.I thought we marked him well
Tiny as well...teams will be targetting him all dayI've never really thought he is that good.
Yeah I think he's overhyped right now.I've never really thought he is that good.
Not sure about United, would he be any good in a back four given how diddy he is?Not sure about some of the reaction to Lamptey's performance on Saturday. Sure, he had a quiet game but the guy is absolute quality. He's been exceptional since returning from injury. His technical ability is lightyears clear of Emerson's, he's quicker, a better ball carrier/dribbler and a better crosser. Emerson is good in the buildup and fine defensively but Lamptey at RWB would transform how we progress the ball down that side of the field. We'd be lucky to sign him, he'll probably end up at United.
I don’t think people are really opposed to signing him, it’s just the fact they want 50m for a player who’s had serious injury problems at a young age. Plus he’s a player who hasn’t actually done much and is 4th/5th choice for England. Not sure about some of the reaction to Lamptey's performance on Saturday. 4th/5th choice because 3 players ahead of him are in the top 5 right backs/wing backs in the world, and Southgate is very loyal to his men (Trippier). Not really a bad reflection on Lamptey for me. I agree 50 million (if that's even what they'd want) would be too much but it's mad how many "I've never rated him" opinions have come out after one bad game.I don’t think people are really opposed to signing him, it’s just the fact they want 50m for a player who’s had serious injury problems at a young age. I agree on people jumping to conclusions on 1 game. I’ve watched him a few times this season including against Chelsea and he was great. I wouldn’t happily have him but more 30m. Yes they are but it still doesn’t detract away from that there are numerous wing backs better than him and he has barely played many games.4th/5th choice because 3 players ahead of him are in the top 5 right backs/wing backs in the world, and Southgate is very loyal to his men (Trippier). Yep, like him. Very busy little player.I think Cucurella’s the better player, personally. Lamptey’s more physically gifted, but Cucurella is super classy.
I saw him earlier this season and he defo looked like a £50m player. But it was one match, before his injury, and one swallow does not a summer make.Yeah, I was coming in here to say that. The one time he got free of Reggy and Ben, Romero smashed him.
He’s a young player and he’s just come back from injury, he’s not a fifty million pound player, but at the right price he’d be a good option on the right I think. I think we will look elsewhere though.
