Hi guys, I’m taking my 7yr old daughter to the Leeds game in a couple of weeks. Just after a couple of bits of advice:

1) Her CRN is linked to my secondary email account, and has not yet received a link to download her member card. Question is whether I can have her member card (and ticket) in my wallet as well as mine? If not, how does she access her ticket?

2) After the game (3pm Sat KO) is it best to dash to the train/tube straight away or hang around in the ground for 30-45 mins? If waiting, is decent for still available?

Thanks for the advice guys, and feel free to share any other tips or q’s about taking kids to matches!

Hi Hawkey
I'll let others tackle #1 as I'm not sure but as for #2, if you're bringing a youngster definitely don't rush it. Let them enjoy every moment. Get there as early as possible, enjoy the walk up to the ground, spend some time in the shop, grab some food and catch as much of the pre match build up as you can. It can be rammed on leaving so hang around afterwards, wait until the main crowds have left and take a walk around the concourse etc. It should thin out enough after 30-45 minutes so the queues for tube are not too bad. Have a great day! COYS.

I've nothing constructive to add other than I hope she loves it and that she wants you to take her again and again and again. I took my daughter to her first game and she was hooked. Then, years later, we took her daughter to her first game. IIRC the noise at an actual game took my daughter by surprise as it's nothing like watching it on the TV but she soon got into singing come on your spurs.

You too now have the chance to create your very own dynasty of misery :D

I’m going to the Leeds game too with my 10 year old. As soon as I got his membership I got the email with the link for the virtual ticket. I have both my and his ticket in my Apple wallet. So you should probably have both of yours too. Might be worth contacting the club.

I've got mine and my little boys tickets in my wallet on my iphone. Normally scan him in first an then follow him in.

Enjoy it, quality the first time they walk out and see the stadium, defintiely worth videoing

another side note - remember the bag policy - tiny bags only.

As others have said arrive early have a walk round, find your seats and you will probably be stuffed if you eat pre-match

Depends on train times really, I often miss the earliest possible train (if i assume end of game and the walk to station) so tend to just hold back a bit after the game as end up waiting at Northumberland anyway. Also have to consider what stand you're in and what station you're at. If you use WHL station and in the east stand it can take time to walk around particularly if you're near the North stand because you have to walk down to the south stand and all around so can take time. North stand can also be a long walk if you're doing Northumberland because you have to walk towards west stand and all the way around as away fans are routed North East of the stadium. Same for Seven Sisters if that end of the stadium.

You can fill out an online form and get an actual card if they don’t have a smart phone. That’s what I did for my 8 year old.

I don’t think you can have more than 1 ticket associated to a wallet. Call the ticket office and they will sort it out. I had an issue recently as my son’s tickets wasn’t loading as he used my email. They were very helpful although it took ages to get through to them.
Have a great day

I took my boy to his first game against Everton a couple of weeks back. I had to get him his own physical pass card as he doesn't have a phone. You can only have your own ticket in your wallet on your phone. It was actually pretty easy, just fill in a form online and upload a picture. They posted through the stadium access card very quickly.
We travelled over from Bristol way and parked a few overground stops north of the ground. We got there early and had a mooch round the shop. We were able to get out easily too as most of queuing at station was for southbound.
The boy loved it and I promised him it's always an easy 2-0 win..hope you get to introduce your little one with a win too

My 7 year old lad has been to 7/8 games now. His ticket gets sent to his mums email as I couldn’t set him up on mine. But they are usually printable. Infact I’m sure they all have been. Hope she enjoys the day. ?. Our next match together is Arsenal ?

I took my 8 yr old on Wednesday
I have both email accounts set up on my phone so we could download both passes into my wallet
It’s totally doable
Might need to check your emails to download the passes.
And like everyone else has said, get there early and soak up the atmosphere.
Don’t be in a hurry to get out at the end either, because it will be busy
And of course, you don’t want to bring up a kid thinking it’s ok to leave games early. Imagine if we’d have left early on Wednesday!

An alternative option if you can get there a bit early is just go to the ticket office and tell them you’re having problems downloading the ticket, they will just print you out one there and then no problem-added bonus your daughter gets a proper ticket as a keepsake from her first match.

Loving the amount of comments and guidance on this guys, this place truly is awesome with some cracking people! Brilliant advice all around, and I’ll be sure to follow. I think on Monday I’ll call the ticket office in case they need to send anything via post, given the strikes it may take a while!! I’m excited about taking her…she’s been to a few Womens Euro matches this summer and I’m a bit concerned she’ll be frightened by the increased violent undercurrent that can run through the crowd in mens games, especially if things (inevitably) aren’t going well! But I’m sure she’ll love it…I just need to remember it’s not ok to shout “oh fucking brilliant he’s passed to Lucas/Royale…watch our move collapse now the useless bastard” in front of her!?

I hope the experience will be great and treasured for many years.
The only bit of useless info I can add is bear in mind it could be dark and dismal after the game has ended with the clocks going back this weekend.

Took my 7 year old daughter to her first Men’s game on Wednesday. Got there as early as possible to make sure she was well fed before the game and had time for the shop. You can get two tickets in your apple wallet, although for some reason hers had disappeared into the expired tickets part of the wallet. Open it up and it can be re-added.

After the game, hot-foot it back to Tottenham Hale, turning at William Hill. Gives you half a chance getting on an empty tube, should it be central London you’re heading for. Take pictures/videos to preserve the moment, it’s magic. But put the phone away too and enjoy the experience. It was one of the best days I’ve had with my girl. Not even bloody VAR couldn’t ruin it.

Can only echo what others have said. Get there early and walk around the concourse. Then let her walk to the front so she can wave at the players after the game. The whole lower level is open and you can walk around 90% (not the away end obviously).

This has the added benefit of not only her seeing the ground /pitch before and after it’s filled with people but you’ll also miss the crush getting on trains.

they will just print you out one there and then no problem-added bonus your daughter gets a proper ticket as a keepsake from her first match.
Love this idea as I still have the ticket stubs from my first games as I used to love them as a memory to look back on. There’s nothing glamorous about the tickets but it’s something she can keep and pin up on her memories board at home (or if she’s not interested you can keep it as her first game reminder)
