Sulkers...

Forgive me if you (mods) feel this doesn't warrant a thread of it's own - just wondered if anyone can shed some light as to which players in particular Harry was referring to when he mentioned the 'sulkers'?

He clearly likes the grit of most the english contingent but i'm interested in discussing who he says is 'fighting for their career'?

Hudd and Bent I think.

Bent didn't play but apparently called in sick and didnt meet at the airport.
Hudd was shite and probably thinks he has no chance now Palacios is coming in.

I would so say Hudd and Bent too, but would be gutted if it were true.

add jj to that list too , im sure the signing off another midfielder is a sign that his days are nearly done at spurs
especially as the player signed plays in his position and posseses more power , technique and ability than him !

bent will definatly be shipped out too

I agree about bent (regarding what I reckon harry thinks) but it would be a shame for Hudd. Didn't Harry just praise JJ as one of the best midfielders in the country?

Bale is definatly on that list. He has not responded to being dropped or at gettinga run in the team in BAE absence. He looks sluggish and is clearly not working hard enough in training.

Does anyone else think he still does not look match fit. Tryingto sign Downing can hardly of boosted his confidence.

Yep I would definitely think that the guys he had in mind are JJ, Bent, and Huddlestone. Maybe a few others but they're the first that come to mind.

I'm not sure Bale is actually 'sulking', just think his confidence is so completely shot that he is a tiny shadow of the exciting young player who first burst onto the scene:cry:

Bent - probably (but that miss was goddam awful, and 'Arry was right, you can't cover the cracks with a statement about him trying really hard, or summit).

THudd - almost definitely. In a game where he should be realising he has to take the bull by the horns he really was very poor last night.

 Don't know who else: O'Hara tries, if nothing else; Bentley looked like he was really trying to put himself about. Not Daws and Woody, 'Arry specifically excluded them. Gunter is very young, though he looked exposed, so maybe a bit harsh if he's included. Modirc:shrug: didn't look like he was enjoying the 'conditions' - but 'Arry said he wants to build a team around him. Esso-Eco-Toe, possibly:shrug:

Yeah, totally disagree about Bale after last night's game - he was one of the best players in our colours last night and aside from one poor effort on goal when he was put through, he put in an excellent and productive shift when he came on.

That's not to say he hasn't been poor overall this season (which I think is largely down to the natural dips in form young players go through), but I think he did himself no harm at all last night, and that if Harry's rant at the 'sulkers' was based purely on last night's game (which I think it was) then Bale was certainly not being referred to as one of them.

I'd guess he means Bent definitely. Danny Kelly on talksport said he thinks Bent has scored his last goal for Spurs, he didn't come across as having any itk or anything just that he is convinced there is no way back for him.

He might feature in our B team on Saturday, if there has been a geniune offer for him we might be tempted to offload him before the window closes and get a replacement in who isn't cup tied in Europe.

Strange how quickly these things change, remember all his plaudits after the City game. Redknapp hasn't been quite the paternal arm round the shoulder man manager that he's renowned for with young Darren recently.

Clearly Harry meant Hudd and Bale...

Bale was the best spurs player on the pitch yesterday, he ran after everything, put himself about into all the challenges, progressed the attacks and yes he missed but if the others tried that hard we would have a decent chance in prem games. I think bale has deffinately responded, he looks like he is really trying and has got rid of the stupid constant hair playing etc he realy needs some praise for his efforts!

Thudd on the other hand almost looked like he was put out about having to play in the wind and rain, a lack of talent is excusable but not to try when you have such skills is not. I think he ill remain a squad player at best.

Agree about Bale, he was sprinting around like Taz yesterday and I thought he was excellent.

I'm starting to wonder if Huddlestone is ever going to be able to raise his game to the level he needs to in the EPL. If only he just showed some heart once in a while and get stuck in not only with the oppsition but with some of our players.

Imagine if you took Hudd, added a real nasty streak, some real bollocks, and the kind of aggression of someone like Roy Keane, who didn't mind tearing a strip of other midfielders who weren't working hard enough around him. I can almost guarantee it'd more than make up for the pace he doesn't have. You'd end up with a snarling monster of a man who would scare the shit out of most midfielders in the country.

It's a shame but I don't think it'll ever happen.

TH was playing very well before his injury. I don't think he's amongst the sulkers myself. My prime suspects are JJ and Bent amongst the senior squad.

Harry was talking about 'one or two of them on there tonight'!!

To be honest I think we have some players who are very skilled but don't have the strong players to compliment them ie Modric, and then we have players with lots of skill but no desire to win ie Thudd, Pav, Ekotto

On Pav and Ekotto, both look like quality players but im yet to see either run themselves ragged like bale did last night.
