So we've given a two year deal to a 20 year old who has now gone to a club who were promoted from non-league football last season. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

How the hell is Luke Garbett still at Everton? He's 26 and played 5 games for them. 5 games in 10 years. How the hell does that happen?

Really think players over 21 shouldn't be allowed to be loaned out. Would force teams to either give them a squad place or sell them

The new legislation has at least put a cap on loans over age 21, max now is 8 overage loans per club. That's why Chelsea sold a whole bunch of over 21 players who were nowhere near their first team this summer. It's a start.

A) You've got your loans confused.

B) Orient are a great historic club who we should always be looking to help, even more so now after Edinburgh's death.

C) Teams promoted from non-League are almost invariably top half in League Two. The gap in quality is minimal.

he hasn't got them confused, marsh signed a two year deal in the summer.

agree that orient could be a good partner club for us but would prefer we sent out players at a younger age again like in the kane/carroll/townsend/mason/caulker years.

With the exception of Carroll who only spent a few months on loan there, most of these players were 17/18 when they were playing league 1

Hysterical
The point he is making, is that in the past we have released players because they haven't been to the standard for the first team or worth much in terms of resale value despite them playing at a higher level at the same age.

It does on first glance seem pointless to give a league 2 loan to a youth player imo, the league gets more harder for a player to shine there and imo can do more harm than good but as someone who like orient, I think its a decent loan from their perspective

Typically most good U23 players are at a league 1 level

What you say is correct , but normally any men’s football is better then U23s football , when you have played U23s as long as our lads seem to . Higher is not always better for first loans look at today for example Clarke and Nketia both vey decent good players on loan at Leeds , but both played in the U23s today , what has Nketia achieved today he could have stayed and done that at Arsenal . Kaz Sterling went to Sunderland hardly got any game time . Marsh will probably get more game time in men’s football by going lower and hopefully have more chance to impress , ready for the next loan

Are you sure that law has come in ? I thought it was next season ?

If Marsh gets a solid half a season at Leyton Orient and then earns himself a League 1 or lower Championship loan by January then it won't look like such a bad move after all.

What’s the most we’ve had out on loan in a season ? Probably end up with 10-12 this season.
