A reminder that the squad has some serious attacking talent, but needs some coaching so it's cohesive , with movement and patterns

Yeah but his lack of game time is due to him not putting it in. Had he have been grafting like he has today, he wouldn't be lacking match fitness.
Well, then fair play to him, and to Mason for getting this level of effort.

Its been over 18 months since we looked this well coached - even against poor opposition. Everyone looks like they know what they are supposed to be doing out there.

I dont know if Jose would have been better next season with signings (I didnt want him). I know Dele hasnt been in the best of form (but theres a good player in there and he has done stuff that has him banked to not be discarded). I know we are playing Sheffield who have been relegated, but when did we last have 74% possesion over anyone? Was it last the 1-1 against Newcastle? Setting up to let the opposition worry about you rather than containing the opposition (which I dont think we are capable of) is a breath of fresh.

Agree. Said this all along. It was our attacking play and lack of possession that meant our defence had so much pressure to deal with.

Keep the ball up the other end abs you don’t need to defend. City have shown this. Liveprool
Show this. We showed this under poch

One of your two examples is a 1-1 draw with Newcastle?
Yea and if you watched the match you would have seen we had 23 shots and 12 shots on target but Darlow had the best game of his career

If only we'd have sacked Jose sooner, this approach would surely have us firmly in the mix. And we'd have had more confidence in the final
I'd like to think that this is a reaction to the final if I'm honest. It would show they understand they didn't put enough effort in, and that they do actually give a fuck.

Dele is visibly rusty but definitely putting in the work today. I genuinely enjoyed this half and if we had a bit more of margins on our side we'd likely be a couple of goals up by now.

Let's just hope the lads can maintain this in the second half instead of backing down like they've done far too often this season

I said on another thread that taking the shackles off and allowing the players to express themselves will take a little bit of time, that it would be disjointed sometimes and that we will look like Bambi on ice.

That was a really promising half. Not in its outcome so much as the change in dynamic. The high press is a welcome return, although they have beaten it a few times leading to dangerous counters. Our movement is better, though a few times players made the same runs.

If we keep this up we will win this 3-0 at least. Just don't fall into bad the bad habits under Mourinho; we don't need to sit on this.
