We have won our last 4 English Premier League (EPL) matches aginat Newcastle, since a 1-5 defeat on the final day of the 2015-16 campaign. We have never won 5 consecutive league games against the Magpies. None of our last 21 EPL home games against Newcastle have ended as a draw (13 wins for us, 8 wins for them).
Newcastle won 4-0 vs Fulham on their last EPL visit to London in May - their biggest margin of victory in a EPL in the capital. They haven't won consecutively in London in the competition since a run of 4 victories between May 2013 and January 2014. They have won 21 EPL matches against us - only vs Aston Villa (22) have they enjoyed more victories in the competition. the Magpies have scored more goals against us than versus any other EPL team (73). Saying that, Steve bruce is looking to avoid becoming the first permanent Newcastle Manager to lose his opening 3 games in the EPL, following defeats to Arsenal and Norwich City.
We have won 23 points at home in 2019, 16 more than we have picked up on the road (23 home 7 away)- the biggest differential amongst EPL sides this calendar year. We have just lost once in our last 10 EPL home games (W7 D2 L1), picking up 7 victories including a 1-0 win over Newcastle in February. Poch (66% 63/96) has the best win ratio of any Spurs Manager in home league matches (min 15 games).
Kane has scored in just 2 of his 8 EPL appearances vs Newcastle, converting only 2 of his 23 shots against them - 8.7% conversion rate. Jonjo Shelvey has scored with 2 of his last 4 efforts at goal in the EPL. Before this, he had scored just 2 in his previous 136 shots in the competition.
This is Poch's 500th game as a manager in all competitions in his career. Excluding other "big six" sides, against no side has he lost more EPL games than he has against Newcastle
