Problem is, unlike our midfield or even defence, we don't have any youth strikers coming through, with the exception of Parrot who is out on loan this season. So, definitely need a new signing up top.

Disagree. Thought he looked OK.
Each to their own but I’d be concerned that you didn’t seem to notice how many times he gave the ball away or made the wrong choice of pass, all comes with experience so it’s no issue at all as the kid is clearly talented and has great feet but against an average Ipswich side he in my opinion looked a bit out of his depth. He did put in a great cross at the end but then 8 yards out he hit such a soft shot at the keeper, just think he needs a loan to develop his experience and whilst he keeps developing physically. Compare him to say Cirkin for example I think Cirkin actually looked more composed and comfortable, obviously they play different positions but that’s how is saw it.

Do you think JC is good enough to be a squad player for us this season? I think he’s a talent for sure but I don’t think he’s quite there yet and rather than barely play a minute for us all season it would be much better if he gets loaned out with regular game time to develop.

Am I overreacting by thinking gedson is a better rb/rwb than everyone else we’ve been linked to bar Doherty? We def need a rb but at the very least I hope to see gedson competing for that role in addition to his versatility in midfield and on the wings.

Probably be a squad player but the new RB signing will have to be Matt Doherty or better to do better than he did today, was absolutely class
He was good, but I think you're overselling it a bit.

It's Ipswich, and preseason, and preseason performances are a super unreliable way to judge ability. He'd much less space and have a much bigger physical confrontation in the PL, and we are not sure how well he can stand up to that, similarly today we played with lots of movement and without Kane, but when he comes back he will be expected to bring a lot of crosses from that position. So positive for sure, but we will see.

Winks is looking less and less attractive (in football manners). White and Devine coming up and playing well.

It makes you wonder if it's not better to cash in.

Really hope no Ipswich fans paid to watch this. Can only imagine how demoralising this has been for them - 3-0 isn’t a terrible score line for them but even with hardly any senior players on the pitch there is a massive gulf between the two teams.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Ipswich enquire about loaning a couple of these young lads - they look like they would improve them.
Looking by twitter comments they are happy with this performance

Winks mom for me, but it was made possible by the excellent peh.

Winks was sitting while peh hunted the ball, interceptions and leadership. A few times when the game slowed he demanded the ball and moved it forward. He plays like a veteran.

Big difference up top when we took Dele and son off.

The defence wasn't troubled so it's hard to judge our defenders although foyth seemed comfortable, great through ball.

I'd like to see more of gedson at RB with foyth behind. Lucas with his usual industrious display.

Youngsters hard to judge but Clarke looked like a kid playing men's football, he has talent but nowhere near ready for pl football. The blonde lad in midfield looked good.

Club trained English player with Premier league experience. Not for me. Great option to have as rotation.

Yeh and Troy parrott is our best youth prospect by a country mile.

We should by back up, I mean right now its Kane, Son then Lucas. We could do with a better third option for sure.

My point is that friendlies tend to be pretty toothless particularly when rotating the team at 3-0 up.

But also out of the youth players we saw today only two or three at most will actually have any kind of involvement this season, yet alone meaningful ones.

Interesting tactically 2nd half with Clarke playing as an underlapping winger inside of Gedson. Wonder if that could be a tactic going forward?
