I genuinely don't think the football is negative or unattractive.

Today was just a cobbled together side and we did what we needed, but Southampton and Newcastle had real attacking teeth. It's not high percentage possession football but it's not lacking in attacking intent.

And we look so less fucking scared when not in possession now.

I’m not saying it is generally. Jose plays tactics on a team by team basis sometimes it better to be defensive sometimes attacking

I'm not even going to judge the sit back stuff first half, because of the circumstances. We kept them quiet and were untroubled. We actually had the better chances I thought overall and deserved to go through. Turns out, as expected, possession doesn't win you games.

I bloody love that Reguilon was the first to react and get to Hugo after the penalties!! The lad has serious desire. He was obviously gutted after their goal. Fair fucking play.

From Football London (in case it hasn't been posted)

More on Dier
On going to get Dier back to the pitch, Mourinho was asked whether he was aware how difficult it is to pee with someone standing over you. Mourinho's response with a big laugh: "The problem was he wasn't peeing!"

Mourinho on Dier
"With Eric you can imagine what happened, to leave the pitch. I was just going to push him a bit as we had one player less. It was the consequence of what he did, tired, dehydrated. I cannot play him on Thursday or I would kill him."

Hope Dier washed his hands and sang Happy Birthday.

Hojbjerg made a massive difference when we came on, a lot of his work can go unnoticed, but he won so many second balls that we just wherent competing for before him coming on.

His passing may be simple as well, but he follows the pass with an angle to give options. Simple things he does really well.

Thought Lamela was MoTM just never gives up.

Reguilon was trying to hard in the first half, settled really well in the 2nd and looked much more assured. It's amazing to see 2 full backs attacking again, makes such a massive difference to have FB's who are willing to take on a man, make a run behind and whip in crosses.

I'm yet to be convinced that Doherty is better than Aurier if I'm honest. Obviously very very early days.

Despite the mistakes Reg looks fantastic. It's so weird to see a mobile FB playing for Spurs

It's not about being better. It's about them competing, improving each other, and offering the manager solutions and alternatives.

Thought Coco's tenacity throughout was fantastic, even when we were shit in the first half.
I was really happy with him. All players should start with commitment and determination. I think the Ronaldo of the world embody that, and its a winning trait at all levels.

That said. Held the ball a bit too long and pissed me off at times. Think he showed his ceiling although his ceiling is a top 4 squad player who is valued and adds a lot. A lot more than the equivalent Chelsea players.
