We have been drawn away to Fulham in the second round of this season's Carabao Cup.

The draw, which took place this evening (Wednesday 9 August), pitted us against Fulham as we take our first steps in the competition this season.

Second round ties will take place during the week commencing 28 August, with an exact date, kick-off time and ticket information to be confirmed in due course.

Tricky fixture.
But I really feel we should be absolutely all in to win the league cup this year.

I reckon the so called 'B team' would beat Fulham the way were playing, been longing for this type of football from us.

I think the first choice should be played otherwise it sets the wrong tone for the club in this competition.
We're not likely to have so many games this season anyway

No doubt this will be as hard a fixture as we could have got at this stage (barring Chelsea or Brentford) but as of today, Fulham have quite a few problems which would definitely make the game not quite as tough as it could have been - Tosin still wants out and hasn't played pre seaosn, while their other RCB Diop has not been great in pre season according to some fans i speak to.

Palhinha had a shoulder injury in first pre season game and hasn't featured since so he'll definitely be behind in his fitness, even if he does make it back in time to play a part, while Pereira had a serious injury at the end of the season and has only had a couple of 25 min run outs in the final 2 pre season games. Even Cairney, who is a decent sub/cup option for them , got injured in their 2nd last pre season game and had to miss the final match.

Then obviously the big one would be Mitrovic, who wants to go to Saudi so could be off before we play them, but even if he isn't he hasn't featured too much in pre season (but did at least feature in the final pre season game from the bench).

It can all turn around quickly of course but they aren't in the same shape as they were last season when they were a decent team, and they also have a pretty tricky PL start as well.
