At least the TW is still open to get in improvements .

I do not think it is a case of the players being inferior form a technical perspective. I would suggest that the coaching and tactics is the main reason for such a disjointed team. Jose will point to three missed chances first half and us conceding from a set piece, and it won't be his fault. But it is.

Set out to play negative football and you get a negative attitude.

Awful approach. Shit half time change.

Boring, insipid crap.

Only one team wanted to win today. It wasn't the home team.

Feel so deflated.

What a clusterfuck of a start.

Jose either changes tactics or consigns himself to not seeing out the season.

Sickeningly poor performance.

Have I missed something?

The wetting of knickers here suggests it's a one-game season, rather than 38.

I think some takes like "X player just isn't good enough for us, get him out" etc are over-reactions, however highlighting that we were absolutely fucking shocking today is fair game.

We won our first game of the season last season, then turn into absolute turds for 2 months.

Point being, one game is by no means any indication of anything.

I accept that a good first game doesn’t mean you’ll continue that form, but my point is that we usually motivate ourselves to put in a decent performance for the first home game.

Out of curiosity can you remember us starting a season this badly at home? I can’t.

This is worse than the Chelsea game last season where we looked completely toothless. I don't know what the answer is.

People really got excited by thinking of Mourinho past and the documentary
But I’ve said it so many times he’s not a top level manager anymore

And the squad lacks so much that’s why last summer wasn’t enough and also the same for this one. The squad is so overrated

Defence: Davies is so average and Jose loves him. Cirkin still very young. Alderweireld not that good anymore. Dier hmmmm not sure he is good enough to be a starting CB for a top 6 team. We only have 1 RB if we sell Aurier

Midfield: Only 1 DM. Winks, Sissoko & Gedson so painfully average. No creative attacking midfielder. Alli has stagnated or even regressed

Wingers: Lucas (not bad today) still favoured over Bergwijn. Lamela very injury prone

Strikers: We only have 1 and he’s injury prone

This will be another long season

What a start. Absolute shambles. Had the same feeling vs Newcastle last season. This whole team/squad/ownership is beyond saving.

This has been a really half arsed performance. Zero effort from pretty much everyone. Totally unacceptable.
