It sounds like a good deal with 27 full capacity games instead of more games with the upper tier closed. 19 league games, hopefully at least 5 European games and a couple of domestic cup games will quickly amount to 27 games though. I suppose we could play all our pre-season games away from home, and might play at the MK in the LC, so 27 sounds OK to me. Is anyone aware of what we will have to pay to play these 27 games at Wemberley?
As much as I love the idea of us filling the national stadium 27 times next season I still fear Wembley could turn into a bit of a white elephant for us, though, and I fear for our home record there unless we have a real go at changing the atmosphere. Most notably we must keep the most vocal sections of the Lane together at Wembley to make sure the chants don't die down before they really get going. If we can make two thirds of the stadium into somewhat of a cup-final Spurs unit I'm sure we'll be fine, but that's what it will take to turn the place into something even remotely resembling the fortress that has been WHL this term. I hope we agree to the deal, go all in to make the place our own - and not least speed up the construction of the new WHL.
We just needed to get a deal done. Hopefully we can rebuild White Hart Lane quickly and in little over a year we'll have the new stadium we've sought for so long.
