It's a real shame that nobody comes out and explains the decisions because I'd like to understand why the ref wasn't instructed to go and look at the studs in Gio's face situatin. The VAR guy should explain the thinking behind the process, might make it easier to cope with.
my only thinking is that VAR and the ref are talking to each other and VAR saying did the ref see the incident and if so did he think it was a accident, that is why the ref didn't go to look at it, but even so it was a disgraceful decision.

Gallagher is a pointless idiot, just like Peter Walton. They're always gonna take the PGMOL's side because they are on their pay role.

He almost never goes against the decisions of the referee, its all mates together. He will make excuses for the most obvious errors by either referee or VAR. Even like yesterday when it is patently clear that it was malicious and intentional.

I can’t get over how bad that stamp was, and the fact he may get away with it. I’m still so fucking angry. Gio could have lost an eye. Doesn’t matter which team it’s for or against, Fleck needs to have a very long ban.

Wouldn’t usually advocate this but yesterday I was really hoping we’d take turns to kick lumps out of him after that.

The thing that did it for me, was Fleck raising his arms after like 'what's he doing rolling on the floor, I didn't even touch him'.

To have the audacity to pretend you didn't do anything, when there's cameras everywhere....I was going to say 'to think you could get away with it', but right now, inexplicably, he has got away with it! Unbelievable. What also pisses me off, is that Sky didn't even mention it after the game.

agree. I’d go further and say feet.
Simply mark the toes/heels
I really don’t like this ‘ leaning ‘ offside
I'd go for feet only, like a lot of other sports. In fact I'd say specifically the hindmost heel. That way, defenders are generally giving an advantage to the attacker, which is as it should be. It'd be a piece of piss drawing those lines, and could probably be automated.

The club need to be raising this with the FA to get it reviewed. He cannot be allowed to simply get away with it, surely?

PEH levelled him late on, then gave him a cheeky pat on the back, like he was saying "Thats for Gio".

After watching it for a few times it is very clear he meant it

He's watching GLC the whole time he meant it alright! But the fa won't care one jot as we're not manure, cheatski or scouse

It was really adding insult to injury how the commentators in both Sky and MOTD2 laughed it up with Lo Celso's icepack on the side of his face. Is this really funny?

I can't remember the last time I was so angry at a footballer for something they did on a pitch as I was at Fleck last night.

When it initially happened and Lo Celso was rolling on the floor, I was initially worried he was going over the top with the theatrics and we'd be getting pelters for it as Lo Celso has been known to exaggerate. Then I saw the colour of his face and realised he was in serious pain. Then I see the tackle and I've never been so angry, it was one of the most disgusting things I've seen on a football pitch. It was so plainly deliberate, you see him purposefully shift his weight, he takes a look and then he shows no remorse.

I can't believe in a year where I've seen so much scrutiny on the actions of a few players that so little has been made of this in the wider footballing world. That Fleck isn't going to face any action. It was disgusting.

100% agree. You could see the look and the way he stamped his foot down that it was not an accident. Plus even if it was an accident you’d be concerned for the players well-being. His reaction showed his guilt.

For anyone interested.

I like and support the concept of VAR.

I don't like or support the way it is clearly being implemented. It doesn't eradicate corruption - it has just made people dig harder to excuse it. I've said it the whole time, and I originally got laughed away, but this season it has really gone up a notch.

Much like Brexit, why does no one ever protest for reform, rather than just extremes? Getting rid of VAR will not get rid of blatantly abnormal decision-making.

The irony is that most hate var for the black/white decisions (like offsides) rather than the reason they should - that is, the 'subjective' ones.

I wish instead of just referring it to as a ‘VAR’ problem, we focus on the individuals behind it, like last night with Peter Banks.

Back to back shockers from him & yet he isn’t held accountable.

The thing is, as has been said by many, VAR is not the problem, however the pricks that are in control of it......

I don't know why people are protesting VAR itself, the alternative is giving the likes of Peter Banks full autonomy
