Tottenham forward Son Heung-min insists he has learned his lesson from his latest red card.

The South Korean was back involved for Spurs in the 1-1 FA Cup draw at Middlesbrough after serving a three-match ban for his dismissal against Chelsea before Christmas.

Because he's dumb as fuck?
I’m starting to think he must be. We all think he’s one of the nicest guys in football but he can clearly have his buttons pressed by opposition players. 3 red cards for retaliation. His card is marked. If he hasn’t learnt from this he’s fucked and so are we.

Apparently he had a reputation for being petulant in Germany before he signed for us, but he was only sent off once prior to joining us.

He is a marked man now - He needs to deal with that in a calm manner otherwise as you say, he's fucked and more importantly so are we.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Not sure if it's so much dumb as just lacking self control. Either way, he needs to get a handle on it.

Soldado was known as mala leche for a similar mentality - nicest guy in the world until he steps on the pitch, so say.

Sonny has decided that he won't get into more trouble by staying as far away from the ball as he can , if his performance against Middlesbrough is anything to go by.

Agree with the inconsistency to an extent. But if you don't give the ref the option in the first place...

He needs to learn what he can do to react which will not get him sent off. The one against Everton was a wrong decision by the officials. The one against Chelsea was no different to what Lacazette did last night which was reviewed by VAR. The diference was Son was on his back/head/shoulders with his boots around the oscar nominees ribcage while Lacazette was still on his feet. It was a yellow card offence if the ref saw it (he didnt) but not a red card offence for VAR so he got away with it. I totally understand players who react when they feel something has been inflicted on them and it seems fans who arent getting fired up by that contact (they sitting in the stands or watching on TV) are leaning towards -turn the other cheek, but thats not for me. When I used to play if you kicked me I would come looking for you really soon so you knew I wasnt being intimidated. I never got a card in my time though was warned. Two people away with it and thats because their challenges put me out the game, I came looking for one when the final whistle was blown, I was gonna clobber him but he didnt respond to me asking 'what sort of tackle was that?', he just put his head down and walked on. The other one I regret I didnt get chance to follow up as it was a company football tournament and I could have been fired.

There's a difference between "playing in a company football tournament" and playing in the Premier League in 2019/20. You know what the refs are looking for, and reacting that way by putting your hands in someone's face, or kicking out at someone is going to get you sent off. If you continually do these sorts of things you are dumb as fuck, it's really that simple.

There is a massive difference between playing in a company football tournament, Saturday and Sunday leagues and no one is saying there isnt. There are physical contests too and red and yellow cards there, the point I made was to know what will get you sent off whatever level you are playing at. There are ways of making your point like Lacazette who plays in the FA cup and ''Premier league in 2019/20'' whether you turn the other cheek folks agree or not. I like Son and wont look down him because of this. Hes needs to learn that when he reacts what the consequences could be and act accordingly. Many other players do, Sissoko, Danny Rose and even Kane for example.

The players also have to know that the officials hate us. Especially post that Mike Dean incident with Poch where Dean told us "You will never win the Premier League" - Since then we've got nothing from refs. Why give them any ammunition to punish us?

When I played, my coach would tell me "Let your football do the talking" when I was getting the shit kicked out of me by ancient old bastards as an 18 year old playing my first season of senior football. That was 20 years ago, and I think the same thing applies now. Do you know what would annoy the people that are trying to get a reaction from you? Scoring a goal, winning the game, etc.
