We can confirm that Manor Solomon suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week. The forward has undergone surgery today (Thursday) and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately.

Meniscus injuries are common knee injuries that can take a long time to recover.1 The recovery time for a meniscus repair is about 3 to 6 months, while a meniscectomy requires less time for healing, approximately 3 to 6 weeks.

That's a pain in the back, he was / is a decent member of the squad, leaves us a bit light. Hopefully back sooner than later

Solomon, Perisic, Johnson, Gil, Sessegnon & Lo Celso (all who can do a decent job at LW / LAM) all injured simultanesouly.

The fact that we still have a front four of Son, Richarlison, Kulusevski & Maddison disproves any suggestions that we lack depth in attacking areas - what we lack is fortune with injuries. Whichever of out injured attacking players returns to match fitness first is likely to get plenty of opportunities off the bench (that appears to be Lo Celso, based on his selection for Argentina this week). Hopefully Veliz is ready to make an impact earlier than planned.

If we were to sign another attacking player in January, we'd surely need to be moving someone on (at least on loan). However, I am concerned that Son is currently carrying a minor injury but playing through it.
